By Anshel Pfeffer Tags: Israel settlements Israel news West BankThe outgoing commander of the Ephraim brigade, Col. Eran Niv, has ordered soldiers at roadblocks in his sector to detain settlers who verbally abuse them during inspections at the crossing points, and turn them over to the police.
There has been an increase in reported cases of verbal abuse of soldiers by settlers over the past year.
Israeli cars are inspected primarily to prevent the smuggling of goods or people, and to make sure the drivers are not aiding terrorists.

Are they roadblocks? as in the road is blocked and no one gets through? Or are they checkpoints (like at border crossings)? Where your documents are verified and you are profiled, searched and allowed to eventually pass through? Are all of the articles in this publication so poorly worded?
settlers? Is that the game? Barak has got to go ! This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. I suggest the settlers fashion a flag like the colonies did in their successful revolt against King George. ' Don't tread on me' with the image of a serpent. Barak is not only a tyrant but a traitor. These Israeli settlers are fighting for their rights against an oppressive liberal government. Who can blame IDF troops for refusing illegal orders. Will a little insubordination open the flood gates for outright defiance? History will hold these soldiers as heroes and patriots eventually. Arrogant tyrants like Barak will always lose in the end.
"ordered soldiers at roadblocks in his sector to detain settlers who verbally abuse them during inspections at the crossing points, and turn them over to the police." .... who will then prompty release them....
This subject is touchy as we are promoting peace full freedom of speech, but allas the respect of truth. What if they attack in ignorance and to the fact of their woman being searched. Can you put yourself in their dignity moment? We need to see if we can search with heat sensors and have them walk thru them or have a stand alone up or a wipe unit to detail internal explosives as well. Terror starts with fear and of them getting attacked before or dignity of soul. We need to find alternate way to stop HATE. It happened to me in youth when we went in to Lebanon and Yohannan went into a rage at me being frisked or touched by another man. I was terrified, but not with youth I was bold. We need to think. Expelling Jews from God Promised Land will get faithful Jews to kill the unfaithful. This is Jewish history.
That should put an end to the illegal settlement enterprise.
There may be some doubt if the jails are not already too full.
The grunts at the checkpoint are just doing their job. They may very well be oppressing Palestinians, but I doubt that is why settlers are abusing them. If they want to abuse the poor guys, they should be willing to pay.
