IDF arrests Lebanese shepherd carrying army knife near border
Lebanese MP tied to Hezbollah calls on country to deal with incident he says clearly violates UN resolution.
By News Agencies and Haaretz Service Tags: Lebanon Israel newsIsraeli security forces on Sunday arrested a Lebanese shepherd carrying a commando knife in a village straddling Israel's northern border with Lebanon.
Shiite Lebanese MP Qassem Hashem earlier said that Israelis had seized Rabih Zahra, 17, near the Bistra farm in southern Lebanon's Kfar Shouba region.
Israeli officials confirmed the arrest, which it said was carried out in the Shaba Farms - a disputed town which both Israel and Lebanon claim as their territory. Israel said it did not believe the shepherd was planning any sort of attack, despite being in possession of a weapon.
Hashem, who is close to Hezbollah, said the Israeli action was a new violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 which ended the 33-day war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006.
Hashem called on Lebanese Foreign Minister Ali Shami and the Lebanese army to deal with the incident which he described as a breach of Lebanese sovereignty.

the kid was tortured and released... lebanese media released images... dont try to hide the embarrassing truth... live with it
Hezbollah did not "take" the soldiers on Lebanese soil, they crossed the border and killed them, later trading their bodies. Israel has now detained a suspect on disputed territory they control, questioned him and released. In 2006 Israel wanted the soldiers back and attacked, demanding return (and failed at that). Hezbollah may, of course, launch an attack, but what would be their demand? They have the shepherd, alive and well. Torture claims are a fabrication. I am guessing Hezbollah will attack when orders to do so will come from Iran. To get the pretext they might have to send the shepherd again. Sounds doable.
Why didn't Hezbollah attack like Israel attacked Lebanon in 2006 when Hezbollah took 2 Israeli soldiers???? At least they only took soldiers not a civilian. And why didn't u mention what they have done to him? He clearly had been tortured as shown on his neck and hands. Kindly when delivering a piece of information have the right facts along with it.
