The Israel Air Force successfully bombed two targets in the southern Gaza Strip - a weapon manufacturing facility in and an arms smuggling tunnel on the Rafah border - in a joint IDF-ISA operation overnight Thursday, the IDF Spokesperson reported.

The airstrikes were launched in response to a Gaza Qassam rocket attack on southern Israel earlier Thursday that damaged a building in Kibbutz Nirim, the IDF said.

More than 25 rockets and mortars have been fired at Israel from Gaza since the beginning of the year.

"The IDF will not tolerate the firing of rockets by terrorist organizations at Israel and will continue to respond harshly against any attempt to disrupt the calm in Israel's southern communities," the IDF Spokesperson said following the strike.
