Thousands of Israelis turned out in Tel Aviv on Sunday to protest a shooting on the previous day at a gay center in the city, in which two people were killed.

A number of politicians spoke at the event, which took place at the intersection of Rothschild St. and Nachmani St., only meters away from the site of the attack.

MK Shelly Yachimovich (Labor) told the crowd: "The pistol did not act on its own, the gunman did not act on his own - what stood behind him was incitement and hatred... The fact that there are wounded children lying in the hospital whose parents wont visit them says everything."
