Hiker dies after 40-meter fall from Mitzpeh Ramon
Eighteen months ago a 39-year-old died during a family hike in the Judean Desert after falling into a deep ravine.
An Israeli tourist was killed on Friday as a result of a 40-meter fall suffered during a hike in the Mount Gamal nature reserve, near Mitzpeh Ramon in southern Israel.
After an hours-long rescue attempt the Israel Air force's rescue unit finally succeeded in retrieving his body.
Eighteen months ago 39-year-old Yoram Egozi from Jerusalem died during a family hike in the Judean Desert, after falling into a deep ravine.
Egozi fell from the cliff to his death several meters away from his 10-year-old son and a friend of the family. An army doctor was the first to arrive on the scene after Egozi's son and friend called the emergency services. The doctor pronounced Egozi dead at the scene.
