Heat kills 6-month old infant left alone in parked car near Haifa
Repeated resuscitation attempts at the scene failed to save girl's life; father apparently left daughter in car in Kibbutz Sha'ar Ha'amakim.
By Fadi EyadatA 6-month-old infant died Thursday in Kibbutz Sha'ar Ha'amakim after being left alone in a parked car in the sweltering heat.
Magen David Adom emergency medical service medics tried repeatedly to resuscitate the infant at the scene, but all attempts failed.
The girl's arms and stomach were covered in third degree burns when she was found.
A preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that the infant's father had arrived at a garage in the Haifa area kibbutz in order to have an all-terrain vehicle repaired. The man apparently left his daughter in the car that was parked outside the garage. It is not yet clear how long the child remained in the car before she was found.

this is manslaughter.... bastard killed his daughter
Regardless of repeated warnings to parents. It is possible that the father forgot the baby was in the car as was once the case publicized in Australia. The man has to live with his negligence for the rest of his life.
Several similar cases here within the last 2 years as I recall. Can't imagine how such things are possible, but yes they do happen, with even worse child neglect stories that would make your stomach turn.
You said it Tamar. But then why is it after such a senseless tragedy that it is realized that adults need to be told that any closed, airless vehicle left in the hot sun can become an oven, especially for a tiny one? My compassion to the parents, God keep that innocent little soul.
As a new mother, this article repulses me. I, however, have found that Israel is about 20 years behind in terms of how to parent your children properly. People are outraged about this? What about all the children who are not buckled in carseats? Or the kids that are outside playing at 11 pm? Or the amount of sugar in Israeli childrens diets? Or five year olds walking around with pacifiers? Israelis need supernanny.
It is not just saddening, it is sickening. How are people so stupid and so totally egoistic as to not think about others, even their own baby. The parent responsible for this deserves a long time in prison.
It will haunt my imagination for a very long time. Children are our only lasting treasure, our joy, our consolation, our reason for living. Nothing comes anywhere near them in importance.
Outrageous, the lunatic father should be jailed for life
the parents will live with this tragedy the rest of their lives but the child never had a chance....bloody shame
yes!!!!
This kind of neglegence is sometimes quite unbeleivable- The poor child was left to die.How can parents be so neglectful and irresponsible.
