Israel Air Force on Wednesday killed the head of Hamas' military wing in Gaza, Ahmed Jabari, in a surgical strike in the Gaza Strip. Israel's domestic intelligence service said Jabari was killed due to his "decade-long terrorist activity."

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman is considering offering the Palestinian Authority immediate recognition of statehood within provisional borders as an incentive for dropping their UN bid.
