Israel and the EU have reached a compromise on the Horizon 2020 scientific cooperation pact, the signing of which was put in doubt following a rift over the EU's West Bank settlement funding ban.

Following that announcement, it was made known that Israel will compensate settlers and institutions that suffer financial damage due to the EU's ban on transferring scientific research funding beyond the Green Line.
