Without Prejudice: War crimes (some type of atrocities) may/must have been taken place by seversl parties so.................however I think it is very important for someone to show GOODWILL FIRST-And be the Agent For Peace-If Israel wants true Peace - I think she should LIFT THE SEIGE and see what happens?
Why don't you the diaries of David Ben-Gurion and Menachem Begin (now available in some published books and in Israeli museums) and you will know who really caused the 1948 war? Make sure what you say is factually correct -- don't just repeat the lines they tell you to propagate.
Perhaps if the arabs hadn't started a war with the help of the palestinians in 1948 they would not find themselves in the situation they are in...perhaps if pigs had wings they could fly also.
for 19 years of Arab occupation, after ethnically cleansing ALL jews from E Jerusalem in 1948.
Perhaps if Israel shared the resources of the land the Palestinians wouldnt have to resort to begging eh? Your attitude is shocking.
Israel should make public all the PA attitude asking them to finish off Hamas in Gaza.
The occupiers attack the occupied in this latest hate paper. Only when Israel has true independence will there be peace.
This is more of the same aggression directed towards Israel we have seen for decades. It is the continuation of the war that the Arabs initiated and lost in 1948 and all the wars since. The Arabs cannot win the land they covet through force so they try like old lady secretaries to beat Israel through bureaucracy and paper work. How about Arabs trying peace for a change and not just in word?
....the PA submitted a resolution saying what they DON'T object to about the State of Israel,if they can think of any. They're certainly covering the ground here. The thing about drafts is that they can also be hot air. I wonder if it's ever occurred to them that even if this resolution is approved,so what? THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
Then they'd come to Israel asking for free access to Israeli hospitals ,for letting them to earn money in Israel . Without Israel they'd disappear ,unable and unwilling as they're to earn living by themselves.
Abbas and the PA have it all reversed.
OK...Israel show the world your true colors? The Palestinians have 'just' joined the 'moderates', took the decent diplomatic route and are using their rights. Well Israel, that was always your demand to the Palestinians...to stop terror and to meet commonly accepted Western / civilized rules. I presume that this behavior is exactly the behavior that scares Israel the most. Next? Israel will start with sleazy provocations in order to portray the respons of the Palestinians as terror. Mind my words!
You are SO right!!!!! Palestinians demanding their human and civil rights is what will keep israel from being "partners in peace"
For 19 years the Arabs kept Jews from visiting the Western Wall.
1. Created demographic realities that result in cutting off all Palestinian residents of Jerusalem from the WB. 2. Create facts and lend support to factions and groups that will lead to a change of status for the Temple Mount/Haram el Sharif in the Old City of Jerusalem. 3. Confiscation of E.Jer. land, specifically in Silwan and Sheik Jarreh which will transform these Arab residential neighbourhoods into exclusively Jewish settlements. 4. Declare that East Jerusalem is not negotiable and demographic changes will not be frozen or curtailed, thus transforming the make up of the city and undermining the authority of Christian and Muslim agencies in control of their religious and cultrual and educational sites (ie. reduction in number of visas granted to Christians to study in the Old City, which has been protested by the Vatican).
The Palestinians oppose limited access to temple mount based on "national origin, religion, sex, age or an other status" But they riot when Jews are allowed in. The temple mount is Islam's 3rd holiest sight as of this century. The temple mount is Judaism's 1st holy site, as of 3000 years ago!
Why does Israel not engage the services of leading world legal figures to draft a counter resolution accusing the PA for the breach of their obligations and Hamas for their crimes in the lauching of thousands of rockets into Israel with the sole intention of killing innocent civilians? Also it is about time that Israel insists that the PA amends its constitution which was required of them years ago and which has been just glossed over.
Palestinian "justice" has nothing to do with any solution short of the complete elimination and ethnic cleansing of Jews in Israel. PA and Hamas are similar in attitude, and have been offered solutions for over 60 years.
Israel is guilty and Israel is a State. Hamas is guilty but not a State. Israel got the support of 95% of the population. Did Hamas ? Please do not compare rockets and bombs that killed 1500 people in 2 weeks. And for your information i'm palestinian so i'm relevant. But are you really ?
crimes committed Sanctions need to be handed down to all countries that abuse Human rights not just some.
If all those people who want Israel prosecuted based on Goldstones report would also add that Hamas should be prosecuted, for instance for shooting rockets into Israel, we might perhaps pay a liltle attention but since you only attack Israel you are irrelevant especially when you're French.
Having read the draft resolution carefully one can actually understand their points of view. That is, if one has not lived under terror from the Fedayeen,PLO,Hamas and a host of other terrorist entities. For those that have not been submitted to the above, the draft resolution seems fairly laid out. The question now remains quite stark, for how will the peace process progress under such a dark cloud. My guess is that Israel will most certainly take one step backwards, for the calls for a true partner with the Palestinians will now be compromised. This draft resolution will not convince those who live in Israel that a peace process is possible. Remember, the silly saying,"It takes two to tango"! What we are in fact witnessing is an unilateral position that will have far deeper repercussions on the two state solution. Good day from snowy Swiss Alps.,
however, it needs to be complemented by concerned parties/organizations with equally condemning resolutions and - better - investigations on human, religious and legal rights violations in WB and on Hamas' religious tyranny. Only if all violations are noticed in Israel and Palestine will there be a chance for progress towards a more peaceful development.
because they will never receive it from Israel unless pressured by the big players.
High time for what? You seem to be wishing for another progrom or worse. Dream on. Israel is a nuclear armed state, and it's not going anywhere.
Please get real..Gaza was Egypt, Jerusalem Jordan. This is an Arab-Israeli conflict. The Palestinians are Arab pawns.
Palestinians seek justice, clear and simple. The only way to get justice is to condemn and punish those who have commited crimes. Israel is one of those. Bombarding and killing civilians is called crime Closing Gaza and creating a humanitarian crisis is called a crime Building settlements and pushing palestinians out of their houses is called crime. Encouraging settlements on a revendicated land is called crime. Israel has been condemned dozens of times over the last 40 years but has never paid the price. It's high time.
The utter chutzpah of the PA to write such a 'resolution'! How about Israel submitting a resolution which sets the record straight. A resolution which invokes International Law, real law, such at the 1919 Paris agreement. Not resolutions or conventions which have no legal standing. How about the PA recognising the Jewish state, stopping all incitement and violence and distributing the billions of dolars of aid to the people?
Why on earth would the Palestinians keep doing everything to make sure Israel will not be partners in peace? Sometimes I find it hard to believe there will ever be peace with the Palestinians because of the hate of Israel.
