Gaza militants fire Qassam into southern Israel

Rocket caused no casualties or damage; over 250 rockets fired since end of Operation Cast Lead.

Gaza militants fired a Qassam rocket into southern Israel on Sunday, in the latest violation of a truce in the Hamas-ruled territory.

The attack caused neither casualties nor property damage.

Last month, The Israel Air Force bombed a rocket launching device in the Gaza Strip, which was aimed at Israel and set to fire.

The IAF strike came after several incidents of rocket and shell fire from Gaza over the course of Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar.

Approximately 55 rockets and mortar shells have been launched at Israel during the last three months, totaling more than 250 since the end of Operation Cast Lead and more than 750 in 2009, the IDF said in a statement.

Stop blowing up tunnels or better yet blow up a tunnel and a buildling. You know which building hamas use, so start targeting them.

Every time a rocket is launched from Gaza, you puke up the same tired old cynical line..."Cast lead ended all such behavior". You represent yourself in this forum as an expert authority on international diplomacy, military warfare, weapons technology/specifications, etc. So, do tell us, Mr. expert, where and when did any Israeli political or military authority EVER claim that Cast Lead would or did "end all such behavior"? Indeed, your notion is a crock and a misrepesentation, isn't it? How about adressing and acknowledging the indisputable facts, as follows: 250 rockets in the past 9 months represents a drastic, indeed remarkable, reduction in rockets from the numbers preceding Cast Lead. How could anyone, even a rabid anti-Israel propogandist like you, intepret such results as anything but a smashing success? Where, in history, with the exception of the atomic bombs over Japan, has such a brief (3-week) military action had this level of success? I'll tell you where...Nowhere.

Here we go again. A rocket a week, then a rocket a day.then a rocket every hour. Israel'response is totally inadequate. Blowing up a tunnel, but making sure there are no casualties, is not a proper response. There must be massive retaliation for every rocket. This will avoid having to invade Gaza again.

This situation will never end as long as Israel is occupying Palestinian lands and building illlegal settlements on their lands. My question is how many hundreds of Israelies were killed through the Qassam toy rockets during the passed eight years.

Cast Lead ended all such behavior. This story is a violation of the Likud-Labor party propaganda line. "Approximately 55 rockets and mortar shells have been launched at Israel during the last three months, totaling more than 250 since the end of Operation Cast Lead and more than 750 in 2009, the IDF said in a statement." - Haaretz Now you have spilled the beans. Cast Lead, the offensive that keeps on offending, did not end the threat.

Hamas believes that killing Jews is a prerequisite to redemption.

The essential problem with Hamas is not the missiles and rockets it showers on Israel, but the core belief that killing Jews is a prerequisite to redemption. Hamas?s ongoing attempts to kill Jews, which have led to the Gaza War, are a symptom of the far deeper problem ? the ideology teaching that Allah demands the extermination of Jews. Israel and the West must create a strategy not only to destroy the terror infrastructures of Hamas, but to ultimately ensure that Jews and the world are safe from this ideology and its consequences. As to what Hamas really want : http://xrl.us/bjurj

Of course, not a word from anyone. It just shows how anti-Semitic the world and the UN are. The truth is, they would prefer for Israel not to exist. They just are not ready to say it yet. Ignore Goldstone, be strong militarily and respond when necessary. Keep up the blockade.

Islamist-Jihadist terrorists in Hamastan are being emboldened by the Goldstone report. They think they can now terrorize Israel with showers of rocket attacks with impunity. Israel should give them Hell for their terrorism and aggressions. The Goldstone report should be treated as a piece of crap machinated by the world of AntiSemites and Islamist-Jihadists that hates Israel, as a tactic to weaken Israel and enable the dark forces to achieve their Charter that calls for the destruction of Israel.
