Gaza blockade-buster: We didn't win, but we changed people's lives

After arriving in Gaza by boat on Saturday, international activists spoke with pride of the latest effort to break the blockade Israel imposed on the coastal territory in response to cross-border rocket fire.

"We didn't win, but we changed people's lives," said one of the activists.

They were interviewed by Channel 10 reporter Shlomi Eldar, who accompanied them on their voyage. Eldar was later detained by Israeli police for violating an order banning Israeli journalists from visiting Gaza.

Eldar said that in his brief stay he saw how the blockade has apparently actually strengthened Hamas in Gaza.

"People are embracing Hamas as [they] blame Israel for their situation," he said.
