To me saying you are "against Zionism, but not Jews" is exactly like saying: "I'm not against Libyans, I'm just against their right to national self-determination." Why is it that Zionism is supposed to be such an ugly word when all it means is the movement to re-establish a Jewish homeland where the Jewish people have sovereignty, autonomy, national pride and can protect themselves? If history has taught us that ANY people need their own government/country/army to protect themselves from the majority society they are dispersed amongst, it is definitely the Jews. After 62 years of an effort to have both Arabs and Jews living in the state of Israel living in harmony, the gap between the two seems to grow. This might be a signal to many Israelis that peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians is just impossible. More over it can hurt the Israeli Arabs survival.
