Former Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Dan Shomron was rushed to hospital in Tel Aviv on Tuesday evening after apparently suffering a stroke.

A Magen David Adom ambulance arrived at Shomron's home in Herzliya at around 9:00 P.M. Tuesday. Medics who evaluated Shomron observed physical symptoms which suggested the former IDF chief suffered a stroke.

Magen David Adom added Tuesday that Shomron was fully conscious and that he spoke with the medical crew while being transported to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

An Ichilov spokesperson said that Shomron was admitted to the hospital for treatment but will not divulge details of his medical condition in deference to Shomron's family.
