By News Agencies and Amos HarelIsrael Air Force craft struck a car in the central Gaza Strip on Monday, wounding five people, including three militants.
Among the wounded were three militants - two from Islamic Jihad and a third from the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction.
Two passers-by were also hurt in the strike, which ambulance staff said occurred about 10 kilometers south of Gaza City.
Islamic Jihad said that the Al-Aqsa member wounded in the attack was the group's commander in Gaza. Two other militants in the vehicle, one from Islamic Jihad and the other from Al-Aqsa, escaped unscathed.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed carrying out a strike but did not give details of the target, other than to say the attack was part of operations against terrorist activity.

"Although its a shame that bystanders sometimes get caught in the middle..." It's more than a shame, Adam. It happens all too often; almost all of those pinpointed airstrikes succeed in injuring or killing innocent bystanders, not to mention, although I will, the other passengers in the targeted car. It is not a feasible excuse that Muslims "don't care about ethics". Doesn't Irael want to be more moral, to be "better" than the Palestinians, not exactly like them. You cannot excuse bad behaviour on the part of Israel by pointing to bad behaviour on the part of the Palestinians. This is not the way for Israel to claim the moral high ground. Regards
The islamic sanctioned indiscriminate killing of civillians in pizza shops, clubs and on busses is not equal to pin-point Israeli attacks on terrorist leaders. Although it's a shame that bystanders sometimes get caught in the middle, its another thing when you deliberly target innocent civilians as is the muslim tactict. What do the muslims care about ethics anyway?? They send their own children to become suicide bombers! For the muslim the ends justify any means.
Or were they carrying Qassam fireworks?
Hmmmm Rusia; I really like the people of Russia but WoW!, why do they always have to instigate in world affairs? your a funny breed! You want freedom yet you tolerate the same crap as the Hammas dictatorship. YOU HAVE NO FREEDOM! Torture, indiscriminate bombings (try to free the prsioners and you blow them up!), kidnappings, rule by decree, freedom of speach, democracy was and now gone (no patience) ... Yes, though I do agree= if your going to take someone out, "Take them Out' As for the bystanders, they know whats going on, their far from being bystander, besides the fact that its the strategy of the day " Gangsters, cult what ever you want to call them; portraying a Government body, hiding behind the weak and innocent and indicrimately killin off Isrealies (due to the lack of Human rights) Would be nice if all could be like Canadians and TOLERATE one another (its been a long haul for us but It's Working; Natives and Imigrants) Prosparity is in Tolerance
War never cuddle. It always bring pain. I think, on such small area and with such huge population each hit is to take a victime. This is why you must again talk. I know it is hard but nobody expect friendship but tolerance and living in peace.
going to work. The siege continues and as with the heroic Leningraders, the Gazans also will hold out !
Exactly so, Felix. When they conduct these targeted airstrikes, they can't be sure who is going to get it...and therefore, innocent people can be injured or killed.
The real problem with these airstrikes is that they cannot be sure they whacked the RIGHT people.
...that's the problem with these airstrikes; they can't always be sure that the wrong people won't be injured.
Congrats, but if the purpose was to wound only, the costs of their medical care and recuperation would fall on Israel. In a war with an enemy which like Hamas doesn't care for conditions of poulation under its control,an old doctrine "Dead needs 1 man to bury him,but wounded needs many to take care of him" doesn't apply anymore
