I believe you mean to refer to the Rabbinical Assembly, the organization of Conservative rabbis, and not the RCA, which is the body whose members are Orthodox rabbis.

Alina Treiger is a graduate of Abraham Geiger College, the progressive semnary in Potsdam that trains rabbbis and cantors for Europe. Abraham Geiger College ist a constituent of the World Union for Progressive Judaism.

Except for North America where there the concept of "congregations" was borrowed from the Portestants, as well as the niotion of "denoinations", The diea of a rabi was that he lead a Kehitlat Kodoesh aka Holy Community of the place where Jewis lived. In some cases there were Jews who were well off enogh to maintian a rabbiof "their own", however more Jews relied on the rabbi who served ther town, or community. Usually rabbis taught at religious schools, and were consulted by synagogues on Halachic matters from time time . That is the case in most synagogues in Israel, and its the gabbi, more of a major factotum than anything else. He usually knows soemthing, but hardly as much as a rabbi who spent time in a Yeshiva. Importing the professioniztions of the rabbinate would only weaken the fabric of our Jewish communities by creating a class of professional Jews vis a vis laypeople who "depend of the decisions" of peoplle who may not qualify as Torah Scholars.

Way to go Conservatives ! Instead of being the bridge from Orthodoxy to modernity and bringing Jews back to a more traditional observance, your lust for P.C. brought another division in the family. You just reinforced the extremism of the Haredi who fear that ANY change is a slippery slope with no stopping point. This action proved it and now, course, gay clergy are also OK ! What next ? Eating treif ? No doubt ! A black day for the Jewish people !
