Last year, Avner Faingulernt, a founder and director of the only film school in the south of the country – the Film and Television School of Sapir College, just outside Sderot -- was on a sabbatical year in New York. He lived up on 131 Street and Lennox, taught a course at Columbia University about Israeli documentary cinema, and fell in love with the Harlem jazz scene.
The man down south who never stops shooting
