Bisphenol-A, a practically ubiquitous chemical, is suspected of contributing to the obesity epidemic.
In Israel, almost one-quarter of children are obese. The Ministry of Health cites the usual suspects: lack of physical activity and a diet rich in carbohydrates, sugars and fat, both of which can lead to an increased risk of developing diabetes. But one possible contributor to the obesity epidemic has so far been ignored: the ubiquitous presence of a chemical called Bisphenol-A (BPA).
