Dubai: We'll go after Netanyahu if Mossad killed Hamas man

Police chief warns Mossad and Hamas against conducting covert operations in Dubai.

By Haaretz Service Tags: Israel Mossad Hamas Israel news

Dubai will issue a warrant for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's arrest if it turns out Israeli intelligence was behind last month's killing of a Hamas strongman, Army Radio reported on Thursday.

"Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, will be the first to be wanted for justice as he would have signed the decision to assassinate [Mahmoud] al Mabhouh in Dubai. We will issue an arrest warrant against him," police chief Dahi Halfan treportedly told local press.

Al-Mabhouh, who was reportedly responsible for the smuggling of Iranian arms to Gaza, was found murdered in his hotel room on January 20 ssassination.

The Dubai police chief also said that the method used to kill al Mabhouh, was a "Mossad method," but did not elaborate further.

Last week Halfan warned international intelligence agencies against working "behind our back," saying anyone who did so should "watch their back."

This applied "to any intelligence organization around the world, whether Mossad, Hamas or any other agency," headded.

The Dubai police chief said that he believed the Hamas leader was in Dubai for business and not for any kind of arms transactions.

If Al-Mabhouh had been interested in meeting Iranian officials in Dubai, as the Israeli media has claimed, he could have done so in either Syria or Iran itself.

The Dubai police commissioner refused to reveal the identity of suspects linked to the incident, denying a Hamas claim that the assassins had entered the country as part of Minister Uzi Landau's entourage, when he visited Dubai earlier that month.

Bottom LINE .. the man IS A known TERRORIST ! How much Israeli blood does this man have on his hands ??? What's the matter ??? Islamic terrorists finally got a dose of their own medicine ??? These people who write in support of Dubai are TOTALLY ignorant of the dirty deeds these terrorists have done to Israeli's .. SHAME on ALL of YOU ! You sit snuggly in your comfort zones .. play arm-chair politics but never lift a finger to help Israel nor have to experience the constant verbal & physical ABUSE Israel goes through on a day to day, month to month, year to year basis ! JUST BECAUSE they WANT to live in THEIR OWN LAND in PEACE & honour, worship their God ! The ONLY ONE TRUE GOD of HEAVEN & EARTH- God of ISRAEL- God of ABRAHAM, Isaac, JACOB & ABBA FATHER'S HOLY SON Yeshua Messiah- Jesus Christ. SHAME on you ALL ! How would you feel about these terrorists IF it was your child .. your wife .. husband killed ? IF the shoe was ... on the other foot ?

This has got to be the joke of the year. Issuing an arrest warrant for the Israeli Prime-Minister without having any proof whatsoever, totally ridicules the Royal family of Dubai. How can someone of such lowly rank as the chief of police, speak for the entire country? I have been following this story since the event occurred. I read a comment just the other day from someone who wrote that it could well have been the Iranians who killed him. It would not be the first time that those from his own association decided to take him out and blame others for it. This has happened several times before In my opinion, I seriously doubt that any level headed government that the Prime-Minister of Israel were to visit, would hand him over The Emirates for trial. Please Dubai, think twice before further embarrassing yourselves.

get your facts right before you accuse Israel of starting any wars. If the arabs were successful in any of the wars there would be no israel and the palestinians would be down trodden by their arab cousins just like they were before 1948. The only reason the palestinian leaders keep them in refugee camps, when they could have built them great cities with the billions of Euro and dollars received, is to keep world opinion on their side for the squallor they lve in. get into the real world woman!

The least I can say to you Dubai, is that your bravado " to go after Netanyahu " is not only idiotic, misplaced, but pathetic. A ) The world finally got rid of a killer, a drug and arms dealer, operating for years in the dunes of Arabia. B ) If arrest is warranted, it should be the Dubai authority. Why?, because they were harboring a known criminal who should have been arrested as an assassin. D ) Dahi Halfan, the Police Chief, is the one who should now be prosecuted as an accomplice, for allowing a dangerous outlaw ,not only to roam freely in Dubai, but for providing him with bodyguard protection -- botched this time, with allah's blessings.... the price of incompetence.

It's become painfully clear who the real "terrorists" are in this propaganda war of words, "Isreal & US". How else do you explain all these war crimes being perpetrated by these two governments. Now when I watch a film about the so called Holocaust, I compare it to the exact tactics used today by these war criminals. There can never be peace without justice, ever. The African Americans as well as Native Americans have been terrorized by the US since we got here and the "Constitution of the US" doesn't even apply to us. We fought and won WWII on behalf of this country, liberated the Jews from Nazi War camps and still can't seem to get our full rights in the US. These Jews are not connected to the 12 tribes, are not Isrealites but are something else, "ZIONISTS". Only one step up from the Nazi's. The scenes of the Palestinians in death camps, being forced from their homes, homes being destroyed, Zionists moving in quite a few of the confiscated homes and being shot down in "cold blood".

Hindsight as we all is 20/20. The stupidest thing that the USA did was to overthrow Saddam Hussein. In power he was a tyrant to his own people but he kept them quiet. I do not know what your take on Saddam was but at this point it makes no difference. His departure has opened the wound of utter rage and hate of the multiple sects witin Iraq. Now you can reply to me that Israel instigated the fall of Saddam's regime...that is your modus operendi....but in actuality the Bush's as far back as Bush Sr. wanted that..but as above they did not know the outcome would be as todays news. Whether you want to accept it or not each and every Arab/Moslem country in the Middle East is a potential ticking time bomb for sectarian violence. Spew as much hatred as you want on Israel, the bottom line is that even if Israel goes back to pre-1967 borders, Israel will always be a thorn in the side of Islam. Islam is on a continuous mission to bring back the Islamic Caliphate. Israel is in the way.

The usual bragging chatter from people like Halevy, along the lines of "Whoever did it, must have an absolute knowledge of Hamas' dealings with Iran inside and out" are absent. The usual doubtless accusations to Israel are issued with no hint of a doubt. This hasn't been the case. Mabhouh was an arms-dealer who had innumerable enemies, and countless conflicting interests in the region. Killing him favours not only Israel, but Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and even Syria, in an indirect way. It also favours those who want to sour any reapprochement between Israel and the Gulf states. It is therefore doubtful to say the least, Mossad has anything to do with it.

As far as I'm aware kidnapping and being accessories to kidnapping are serious criminal offences in civilised countries. So Israel should follow Dubai's lead. We know which Hamas thugs are openly negotiating the release of Gilad Shalit, which they couldn't do if they weren't implicated in the crime and in a position to negotiate. Israel should issue arrest warrants for the arrest of them and Ismail Haniyeh so that they can be nabbed next time they enter Egypt. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
