How will Israel plan to populate when it is already losing the demographics game with a country way smaller than New Jersey and swiss cheesed, filled with extremist militants (Russians mostly)?

Israel could hold a strong bargaining chip here. By allowing the construction of 3000 housing units, Israel may demand strong concessions from the US, and EU in regard to their diplomatic ties with the PA in exchange to canceling the allowance. If that is not possible, Israel may at least demand that something be done about Iran, such as an American assurance it would attack if the Uranium enrichment is not cancelled by March

08 0 0Reconcider

Don't worry Israel. All you have to do is "reconcider". It's not as if Obama said: "Stop immediately!". Your colonizing of the entire Westbank is only "damaging to efforts ...". It's not as if Obama said "Put an end to the prospect of a Palestinian state". Now what will Obama do if Netanyahu once again refuses and once again makes a fool of him? Nothing! So don't worry!

07 0 0Netanyahu using US as a pawn in its game
- By abram epstein

The despotic confiscation of E-1 for 3,000 houses is a chess move by Netanyahu. He thinks Obama is afraid to oppose him, except verbally. Why? Because the US depends on Israel to join a future military contest with Iran. Here's what I suggest: Let Obama move to fund the Palestine Authority with twice the aid it gives now--and a promise of much more should Netanyahu proceed with the E-1 disaster.

Israel is bluffing. After much ado they will "freeze" the decision but not until they exact a price. same tactic as when they arrest random Palestinians and then they negotiate their release for a price
