Officers in the Israel Defense Forces tend to identify more as Israeli than as Jewish, a study by the IDF Education Corps has found. In the survey of cadets and officers up to the rank of lieutenant colonel, 94 percent termed their Israeli identity very important, while 82 percent considered it important or very important.

The holocaust is the most important event effecting the establishment of the state of Israel. I do not undersstand the term tradionalist.
