there are laws that govern the passage of ships in the canal. all ships may pass except from countries with which egypt is at war. so iranian ships are passing through the canal even as us and israeli military ships are passing through. this is a total non-story.

Should the situation played out the other way, like when Iranian ships want to enter into the Suez Canal heading towards Gaza, then suddenly the Egyptian opposition would say "it's international waters" and look the other way, right? The double standard only works for Egyptian opposition, nobody else.

I suspect they are on their way to position themselves near to Iran. Won't do them much good. Even if the bomb Iran will continue to build a bomb which is oviovious they are doing. Meanwhile Hezbollah will draw Israel in to yet another leabanon war with even more advance weapons. Meanwhile gaza will become an even bigger issue as the world and their dog will send flotillas and helicopters to drop aid into gaza.

Are the US and Israel saber rattling and trying to whip up a little fear, or are they preparing to attack someone? Far too much testosterone from these two countries. The US is already involved in two wars, how many do they think they can do at once? Israel is used to beating the pants off everyone, but this time they're taking on bigger boys.
