Report: U.K. preparing for military strike on Iran nuclear facilities
The Guardian newspaper says U.K. increasingly concerned over Iran's enrichment program, and is preparing to deploy warships to assist a possible U.S. strike.

According to the report, the U.K. is increasingly concerned over Tehran's nuclear program, and is preparing to deploy Royal Navy ships in the coming months to assist a possible U.S. attack on key facilities in Iran.
The paper cited senior officials who said they believed Iran had regained its technological capabilities which were severely damaged in a cyber-attack last year. Iran said the Stuxnet worm infected personal computers of employees at the Bushehr plant, but not the plant's main systems. The New York Times reported last January that the worm was a joint Israeli-U.S. effort to undermine Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Iran's military chief warned Wednesday that an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear development sites will come at a heavy price, according to the Iranian ISNA news agency.
Responding to reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been trying to gain a majority in the cabinet for an attack on Iran, the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff of Iran's armed forces, Hassan Firouzabadi, warned both Israel and the U.S. against such a move.
Meanwhile, the Israel Air Force continues conducting comprehensive drills on long-range attacks.
The last drill of this sort took place last week at the NATO base in Italy, in which six different types of air force squadrons participated. The drill was widely covered on websites around the world that specialize in aviation.
Also on Wednesday, Israel test-fired a ballistic missile at the Palmahim Israel Defense Forces base in central Israel. The test was part of an examination of a new missile currently being developed by the defense establishment. The missile left behind a fire trail that could be seen throughout central Israel.

the problem is that England will be dragged into the terror propagated by Iran after the strike. Now if Israel fails like the hezbollah conflict in 2006 then be sure America and Europe trust of the IDF will collaps and the USA will be forced to put asside it Veto in time of need by Israel. Netanyahu is most likely bluffing when he lets people believe that Israel is getting ready to attack Iran. Not only will Israel inflict small damage on Iran, the US will be held responsible by Iran and American soldiers be attacked in Iraq and Afghanistan. It certainly makes no sense for the US to allow such nonsense before the last US soldier leaves Iraq (by year's end). Perhaps the Brit are spreading their own bluff so that Netanyahu will wait until their plans become more firm. I will accept as some indication as actual ACT, such as British ships actually sailing to the Gulf.

If there wasnt so much media attention, then I think that such an attack would be feasible at the time, however, I seriously doubt that now that Iran has had advanced warning, that the players involved would attack when the beast is at full alert.

I hope these contingency plans remain just that... The US and Israel are perfectly capable of waging fruitless wars and causing the collapse of the world's fragile economic balancing act by themselves. Iran has a nice fleet of small naval boats to mine the Straits of Hormuz with, and an arsenal of missiles to rain on Israel. I wonder if they've planned for that contingency?

1948-49 was started by Arab countries invading 1956 was a reaction to Arab attacks across the border 1967 was a reaction to Nasser expelling the UN from Sinai and closing the Straits of Tiran - both acts of war 1973 was started by Egypt crossing the canal. 1982 was a reaction to the PLO shelling from southern Lebanon. The second Lebanese War was started by the attacks by Hizbollah and kidnapping and killing of Israeli soldiers. Cast led was a reaction to 9 years of rocket attacks on southern Israel from Gaza. Every one of the retaliations by Israel was in responce to an act of war by the other side. So who started the wars ? Think again tarek. And maybe study some to learn what has been going on here. Also check and you will find that until 1949 a state of war existed between Israel and all of its neighbors. The peace treaty with Egypt ended the state of war in 1979 and there has been no hostilities between the two countries since. Same with Jordan since the peace treaty between Israel and Jordan. So to be exact, war never ended. It all started by the Arab invasion in 1948
In years past our governments would have confabulated some scenario to justify an invasion. A "false flag" like the Gulf of Tonkin or fantasy like Iraqi WMDs. At least they are being pseudohonest and saying "Well, Iran is not attacking, and has not attacked, and shows no signs of attacking, but we are going to blast the snot out of them anyways".
what do you mean, no signs of attacking, Their midget leader has repeatedly said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map. What is the easiest way to do that? Nuclear weapons. How is that not a sign of attacking??
