You KNOW what that agreement stipulated: Israel was obligated to stop ALL Settlement construction and remove all illegal outposts in phase 1, -PRIOR to negotiations for core issues and final status in phase 2. Israel refused, and by doing so besmirched it's honor and wasted it's best chance to negotiate a favorable agreement under the Road Map. Now it is being forced at the UN.

The settlement issue is a sideshow and a distraction. On the main issue of Jerusalem, and specifically the Temple Mount, the Palestinians have approached this as if it can only be theirs, with no possibility of sharing, even though it is the holiest site for Jews. This is what it is all about. The Iranians will not allow the Palestinians to be flexible. So if Abbas want real peace, he needs to break his ties with the Iranians and show us that he can be a Nelson Mandela. Unfortunately this will not happen.

It's quite well known that Israel wants to keep the major settlement blocks. However, in return for peace Israel wants to leave Palestinians with a nice country.That would all be part of a negotiated agreement to which most Jews are looking forward to.

When ask Palestinian ask for Right of Return, they are asking based on International Law. You know the same law Israel uses to bash Iran everyday or sanction them. You know the same USA talks about everyday. The same law that allowed Germany to be returned to Germans not to Russia or USA. You cannot just take out a law when it is convinent. Israeli leaders do that all the time--Bibi uses Oslo when it works for him but it does not, he says he personally destroyed Oslo back in the day.

I'm looking forward to a negociated agreement with israelis too. (Note i refer to israelis and not jews). Now i do not believe Israel is able to compromise on settlements.
