Peres to Obama: Coalition will make it difficult for Netanyahu to make progress in negotiations

The Israeli Govt needs to ask itself if it wants a continuation of American support or not. It needs to ask itself if it appreciates ALL the military aid it recieves from the USA. It needs to ask if it truly wants to face major casualties in future battles with its neighbours. It needs to ask itself if it is prepared to truly place the safety and security of its citizens first and foremost. Peace is the Israeli Govts only option. The Occupation and illegal settlements need to end...full stop!

Isin't it amazing how Israeland the Arabs can find another way to stall-now it's the coalition. America might be able to speed this process up a bit by nto visiting Israel. You have rockets fired at you now -it's war-try peaace carefully-maybe it will be soemthing differen sure as heck worked in Egypt.

Israel is intent on annexing the WB, that has been clear for a long time. There is no peace process, and without one the next step will be a war process. Sooner or later, a power will emerge that is strong enough to force the issue. In normal circumstances that would mean bombing the settlements into oblivion, and taking back through force what has been acquired through force. If Israelis want to avoid such a denoument,, they should get a two-state deal done NOW. If my 'war' scenario sounds like madness, so does Israel's current policy. And there are probably more nut-cases surrounding Israel than there are within it. If time is running out for a two-state solution, then it is also running out for Israel as we know it.

to Obama is that the coalition is weak and cannot deliver a peace deal. Which means , once again is that ISRAEL and nobody else is not ready fro peace. So to those pundits who claim Israel is yearning for peace , forever , hold your peace....

Unless all leaders involved in these crisis change their myopic vision! And learn to accept each other as equal partners without prejudice it would not be possible to attain peace.

Israel will draw 'negotiations' out forever, because the main thrust of Israeli policy is to, over the long term, annex Judea and Samaria. Countries that participate in this deception are as much to blame as the Israeli government. The whole world knows it, outside the USA. It's time to use every means for the world to force Israel to withdraw to 1967 boundaries.

The PLO needs to stop equating peace with Israel's destruction. That's not the kind of peace Israel can agree to. However, If the PLO came in good faith and accepted compromises then a lasting peace can be made. This means Jerusalem is Israel's undivided capital, No right of return to Arab foreigners, demilitarized Palestine, Jordan valley remains part of Israel and all the Jewish "settlements" remain intact and part of Israel. I think these red lines are simple and once the PLO accept these simple concessions to a lasting peace then there will be peace. Everything else is negotiable.
