Palestinian stabbed in Hebron Hills in suspected 'price tag' attack
Mahmoud Awad, in his twenties, was taken to the hospital with knife wounds to the chest from attack suspected of being motivated by Jewish ultra-nationalism.
A Palestinian man in his twenties was stabbed by a masked man on Monday in the Hebron region, Channel 10 news reported.
Mahmoud Awad, a resident of the area, was taken to a hospital for treatment of his wounds. The area is currently being scoured by security forces.
The police have reported that they suspect that the perpetrator is a Jew who carried out the act for nationalistic reasons. Palestinian media sources are reporting that Awad suffered wounds to his chest area.
Jewish extremists have carried out a number of attacks on Palestinians and Palestinian property in response to events that have angered them. Some of these so-called 'price tag' attacks have been in response to Palestinian attacks on Jews, while others have been in response to government actions taken to curtail of settlement activities.
The most recent incidents came in the wake of tensions following a deadly stabbing attack at the West Bank settlement of Itamar on March 11, in which five family members, including three children, were killed.
