Every action has a reaction - definitely! But don't forget that his applies to Israel as well as the Palestinians. Israeli arrogance has led them to believe that this law no longer applies to them or, in other words, that they can do whatever they want without incurring any realistic opposition. You clearly think that will always be the case. I don't. One way or another (and let us hope that it is through peaceful means) I believe that the Palestinians will eventually get a viable state and with E. Jerusalem as its capital. Israel's only real ally is the US (Europe follows along half-heartedly) but the US is a bankrupt state that is gradually losing its super-power status and ability to control events beyond its borders.

The settlers can stay where they are and enjoy all of the rights and privileges associated with being a Palestinian citizen, as it were. Israel has Arabs, Palestine can have Jews. It's the same thing. If they don't like it they can leave. If they stay they pay for their land. There is no free land. Let them take out mortgages like everyone else in the world does.

If Israel keeps blocking the state of Palestine and keeps building on occupied territory the ICC may well rule Israel has to roll back to 1948 borders.And they would be legally correct. Israel has never annexed any land it took legally.

It said that it ws "in favour of the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine...." It did not (1) delineate any legal borders (2) It did not define how much of Palestine should become the Jewish national home (3) it did stipulate that nothing should be done which delegitimises existing non-Jewish communities.

You forgot one rather big detail, Israel declared herself a nation ( Ben Gurion to be precise ) after Israel destroyed vanquished the arab nations who came to kill her. The UN followed as Israel WON and the arab states lost their butts. How old are you, 12?

Name one state that exists anywhere in the world today that is not in some way recognized as a state by the UN.

Like before 1948 when zionist prevented majority ruling in Palestine or when the US threatened countries with aid cuts to get the needed votes for a partition resolution which itself was antidemocratic, beacuse the population of Palestine wasn't even asked to decied on their future goverment.

Asking Israel to abide by the RoadMap is not a precondition...it is a requirement of the peace process Israel signed up and agreed to.

Prior to the end of the cold war there were numerous "non-member states" sitting on the cross-benches (North and South Korea being obvious ones). Once the cold war rivalries ended then all those states were A-OKed by the Security Council. So the only reason that "Palestine" will be sitting there is because of the USA's puppet-like deference to Israel, and to no other reason.
