Netanyahu to Gaza militants: Israel's policy is kill or be killed
Premier says Israel not interested in deterioration along border, but will defend its citizens firmly, aggressively and effectively.
By Haaretz Tags: Benjamin Netanyahu Gaza Hamas Gaza rockets Islamic JihadPrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Israel had no choice but to retaliate when faced with attack, and would stop "every attempt to fire against Israel and anyone who fires anyway".
Netanyahu told ministers gathered for a special cabinet session in Safed that Israel's defense policy was based on two principles: "Kill or be killed" and "He who harms you should bear the blood on his head".

"I suggest Hamas, Jihad and the other organizations not test our determination to actualize the two principles I have described here," said Netanyahu. "We will harm every attempt to fire against Israel and anyone who fires anyway. We are not tempestuous and we do not want things to deteriorate, but we will defend Israel's citizens determinedly, aggressively and effectively."
Netanyahu made his remarks shortly after Islamic Jihad said it would accept an Egyptian-mediated ceasefire if Israel agreed to halt its "aggression" against Gaza.
Just a few hours later, the Israel Air Force struck a militant cell apparently poised to launch rockets at Israel. One militant was killed in that attack, said Palestinians.
Nine other Palestinian gunmen and an Israeli civilian have been killed since the cross-border violence resumed last week.

turning it to a peaceful future Why hasn´t he explained for what reason it was necessary to kill the five Palestinian yesterday morning?
Israel must have no compromise because they will not. Agression must be met with agression
You've taken just about everything from them, they have very little to loose; on a level playing field Israel won't stand a chance.
A rational way for Israel would have been to sign a peace deal with Abbas, applicable to Gaza when it returns to his control. Then Israel goes into Gaza, takes it over, cleans it up from all terror organizations, and hands it over to Palestine. There will be a few hundred IDF casualties, but this is a worthy project. It is more wasteful of Jewish lives to have a series of big operations which don't solve the problem. Of course, Netanyahu will not do it because he does not want to give up the West Bank. Let us wait for another Cast Lead, with new accusations of war crimes (because if the purpose is just to inflict damage, this is what it will come to).
"Kill or be killed"? Sounds like an al-Qaida policy. Of course, nobody can believe this Netanyahu slogan, especially after the Shalit deal which demonstrates to all that Israel does not like Jews dead. Netanyahu the PR expert should come up with a better slogan. How about "bring them on"? Oops, that was Dumbya Bush's slogan. Think about something else.
If that photograph was taken last week he needs a check up.
The problem is that The terrorist need to succeed once when he will be praised by his followers and for the IDF to slip once to be disastrous for Israel. We need to restore the law in the Gaza strip ie a proper invasion and the cuting of the jead of Hamas in Gaza Egypt and Syria
Once and for all hit those militants hard, let the whole world see that peace with these people is impossible. Israel should not have to put up with these daily attacks. HIT 'EM
The price is 1,027 Arabs for one Jew. One Jew was just killed and only 10 Arabs have been killed so far. PM and Barak - get off your asses and get to work. No less that 1,027 Arabs for one Jew!
Arabs killing killing Arabs continuously and mercilessly and the rest of the world looks the other way. But when Israel needs to defend hersef against these Arabs from ongoing rocket attacks, the world moves quickly to blame and condemn..... Is Israel conspiring against itself. What is really going on underneath it all. Why is Israel allowing Hamas, Islamic Jihad and all these so called freedom fighters to obtain weapons to perpetually prevent Israeli people from leading a normal life. What's the deal here.
The current Israeli government loves it when Hamas or Jihad fire rockets into Israel. This gives them complete justification in their eyes to bomb and kill Palestinians and detract international attention away from the apartheid policies of their government, including settlements, land confiscation, house demolition, etc. He may be threatening on the outside, but he is smiling and rejoicing on the inside!
But sadly the only solution to this "palestinian" mess is Cast Lead II. Clean the terror infested areas out once and for all. Also dont take any notice of complaining from the UN or people like "harzion" here on Haaretz. They dont believe in G.O.D as we do mr PM! Shalom!
spot vlad. no westen nation would allow ONE rocket to be fired into its territory without RETALIATION. this is how germany started the war by pretenfing poland had attcked germsny. israel arm your selves
I guess Israel has gotten used to living with barbs in her hips and thorns in her eyes. It's always the same old bla bla bla when dealing with Hamas. These murderers are turning Israel into a cornered beast surrounded by a pack of wild dogs Sonner or later the beast will tire to eventually get eaten alive.
unless you are haredi (ultra-Orthopox).
Slow self immolation. don,t worry Israel--no one is going to intefere with your policy.
Action is the key.....
If Israel stops the blockade we'll not see peace, but a rain of rockets!!!
But don't let facts stand in the way of hatred of the Jewish State. Lifing the blockade will only bring more rockets against civilians while the UN stands by. I always wonder how the "starving Gazans" as claimed are able to shoot rockets at civilians for years. These "starving Gazans" should have starved to death a long time ago. Gazans however must take years to starve to death unlike other mortals.
