Netanyahu: Iran trying to provoke war between Israel and Syria
Israel seeks peace and has no intention to attack its neighbors, despite false rumors, the prime minister says.

"Israel has no intention for war, and this is an effort to spread lies in order to create regional tension," Netanyahu said.
"We want stability and peace," the premier continued. "Israel seeks peace and has no intention to attack its neighbors, despite false rumors."
Responding to a question about Tuesday's meeting between Syrian President Bashar Assad and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Netanyahu said that Israel would welcome any steps toward the resumption of peace talks, including those with Syria.
Netanyahu said, however, that peace talks must take place without preconditions. "The path to peace is through negotiations, and that is our intention with the Palestinians and with the Syrians.
Medvedev arrived in Syria late on Monday, shortly after meeting President Shimon Peres, who said in Moscow that Israel did not want war and did not intend to escalate tensions along its borders.
The visit is seen as part of diplomatic endeavor to decrease tensions between Syria and Israel, as well as a defiant message from Syria to Washington, in the wake of rising tensions over an Israeli accusation that Damascus had provided the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah with Scud missiles.
Both Syria and Lebanon have dismissed the allegations as "lies."

The real strength Isreal and the West have enjoyed for long comes from Arab regimes which by all means were able at checking arab nations will to resist and fight back. The US were grateful to their creations, they adopted the methodolgy. Abu Guraib, Bagram , Gitmo, other secret prisons are more effective than all WMD stocks they have. Syria's border are the most peaceful place on earth, barring Hezbullah search to reconquer Shabaa.
That's what I genuinely first read when I glanced at the headline! And I thought wow, well at least Bibi's being open about what he's up to. And then I read again and I realise it was just the same old lame Bibi blaming all the world's evils on the Iranian bogeyman. Not really sure whether I'm bothering to write this since posts to the new Haaretz Talkback only seem to have about a 10 per cent chance of being posted up, whereas it was about 90 per cent on the old Talkback.
One thing that the Syrians are not, is cowards. During desert storm, Bush the Great (not to be cofused with the baby bush) and the most powerful coalition in the history of the earth, discovered that behind the US, and perhaps the Brits, the Syrians were up front, ass in the grass (or sand) so to speak! As the Israelis have learned, the Syrians are not cowards. Another group that Israel would be uwise to consider cowards is the Iranians. Look to the losses they suffered in the Iran Iraq war, if you have doubts. Neither of these peoples depend on aircraft and missles to do their fighting. Can Israel claini the same, or do they only fight by disproportionate "prepping" (translation, carpet bomb and artilerty prep, to eleminate all vestigas of humans, military and civillian, prior to entering an area, as in cast lead and lebanon2? Perhaps those were military victories, but by winning those battles, they lost the moral high road, and support of the entire world!! Israel, consider well, how you fight your next "collective punishment war". You cannot afford many more "military victories", like your last two. Personally, I do not think you can afford even one more! I can recall no other nation has fallen out of world favor, so fast, and so completely!

Iran wants Israel to have as many enemies as possible. Don't fall for it Israel. Do whatever it takes to avoid a war with Syria. Iran should be the main focus.
Syriasly, Israel can have peace with its neighbour immediately.... just give back the Golan Hgts.
The provocation for war with Syria has already been there; Israel know what they must do to prevent any future confrontation. They are only kidding themselves if they think they could keep the Golan Heights forever; Syria is slowly but surely becoming militarily stronger, if it takes them another ten or twenty years to get to the point where they feel confident enough to retake the Heights, they will. It's just a matter of time.

If anything, it is Israel who is always provoking it's neighbors. Israel bombed Syria in September 2008, just because they thought they were building a nuclear reactor, an allegation yet to be proven. Does that look like someone who wants peace and stability with it's neighbors? If Israel wants peace with it's neighbors, they know what they must do. Come on Bibi, the world is not stupid.
What should one do? If there is a chance, ya can't just sit around waiting to be blown up! Countries who have technology which incites distrust, have an obligation to clear up that mistrust 100%, or forgo that technology. I would have done the same for mine.

Allah never tires of winking at lies packaged as truth for the infidels. That the "religion" that Iran so proudly exports happens to be reinforced with gunpowder and metal shards is somehow a blessing in disguise for the non-believers. is the one that through negotiations israel gives up all the territories it illegally occupies and restores serenity to all the surrounding area. israel, on the other hand, wants to remain sitting in its comfortable status of talking about negotiations, and the building of new settlements carries on without end. cheating is what they love doing most.
After all, Iran through Hizbollah started war against Israel in 2006. Iran would just love to ignite full-scale war in the ME - that would be a major coup for a "government" holding onto power via rigged "elections". I hope the sanctions continue to be heaped on the so-called "Islamic Republic". Judging by Ahmedinejad's recent statements he is running scared of the sanctions. The Shah was bad. The Islamic Republic is worse.
After all while some may dispute the long range missiles, nobody denies that Iran is sending weapons via Syria to both Hezbollah and Hamas. There are preconditions on those weapons being provided as well. Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas must NOT make peace with Israel or the weapons and money will be cut off by Iran. If that's not instigating war what is? Israel wants peace but as usual nobody will come to the table with direct negotiations or they want preconditions that include everything Israels enemies want BEFORE they even sit down to talk Then of course there is the laughable accusation that Israel is at fault for the failure of talks..
