As long as it was spread around by the politicians and generals then it served its purpose. However it probably only wet everyones appetite for more.... and the American taxpayer takes another one on the chin from Israel.

Israel is the trouble maker here and was was pushing for war that made Iran prepair its defences and become stronger and stronger beyond imagination. Now Israel can never handle a war with Iran alone and the West woke up and will never support a war, never, never again in favor of Israel.

Israel lives in a very very rough and unforgiving neighborhood where Syria has nerve agents already loaded ready for use. Iran is pushing for a bomb, Hizbullah has 40,000 rockets, Hamas maybe another 10,000 rockets, Egypt is destabilizing and may well scrap teh peace agreement. 11 Billion to protect the country is small change compared to another holocaust that could kill millions more.

Better to be safe than sorry. If Iran did not know Israel was ready to attack. Iran would have attacked Israel already. Read "Clauswitz" and "Sun Tsu" and you will be able to figure this out yourself.

he identifies and deals with a very real existential threat....option to strike MUST be available .....the cost has to be accepted whatever because the alternative is DEATH. even if not utilised it was the right decision and there were many spin off benefits for sure.
