If you have Oil we form a grand "coalition of the willing" instantly [even without UN mandate] like Iraq and invade with great glee and enthusiasm to bring you "democracy & freedom" on a platter. It is in the best interest of the West and Israel that the Sunni and Shia put an end to each other and that is exactly what is going to happen if Iran ever gets the bomb. Israel is not a threat to either Iran or the Saudis, but they are threats to each other and that goes back over 1,000 yrs. The west can knock down Iran's missiles and Iran is yrs away from developing a delivery system for a missile (unless they purchase one from NK or Pakistan)

All Israel needs to do is to start the war. Israel expects that the west will be sucked into the war by Iran's retaliation.

A whole series of American presidents have pledged to support Israel no matter what. American support includes their influence over NATO and the UN and any other American allies. Israel has cashed in those pledges over and over and over again and they plan to get a lot more milage out of them. Israelis are certain that, if they start a war with Iran, America would be FORCED to join the war. By making this attack before November, Israel plans to get rid of Iran and Obama all in one blow. It would be a terrible miscalculation on Israel's part if Obama did not perform as expected.

Israel has never had unanimous support for anything. Israel rarely even has majority support. A lot of Americans will die for Israeli settlements before the Zionist American government is finally turned out for good.

I think The status can not stand as it is, either peace and or letting them to have their progress for medical and or for other unharmed public benefit as electricity etc but under fully watch and control.

and let Iran strike first. After Tel Aviv is nuked Israel will have world opinion and sympathy on its side. Yes, indeed. Nothing more heart warming than dead Jews.

An attack on Iran would kill a number of civilians, embolden the Islamic extremists, raise the price of oil, threaten to reverse the progress American efforts have made in Iraq, bring retaliation upon the attackers and their enablers, , open the door to a major war, America on a collision course with China and Russia and possibly destabilize certain mideast nations. In favor of an attack is the possibility that an attack would delay Iran's nuclear program. Israel is the main cheerleader for making such an attack, but then Israel will be shielded by America from most consequences. Israel has gotten used to America acting as their umbrella. Israelis need a major dose of reality.

A war of aggression is never justified. Even IF Iran actually IS developing a nuclear weapon, that's not an act of war.

Lt. Gen. Charles Bouchard, thank you. An insane man can drop a bomb on the Iranian installations; it will take years and efforts of many wise people to undo the damage to the world and the region. Who is going to pull Syria back together once Assad had been removed? Who is going to protect Shia population, Kurds, and Christians in the country? Post Assad will be a disastrous for the region, Israel and Turkey. USA will not benefit from the unpredictable events following Assad departure. If any, it will have serious consequences for US foreign policy years to come.

And obviously, Netanyahu does not. A strike on Iran is going to earn less friends and more disrespect for Israel, not more. It will also increase the risk of hate attacks against Israel and Israelis around the world because people are getting sick of warmongering. An attack may also have the undesired consequence of causing far more sympathy for Iran. Iran's nuclear ambitions are no less acceptable than Israel's in the eyes of the majority of the world.

is that Israel will do what is necessary for her survival. That is true whether or not there is unanimous support, majority support, minority support or complete cpposition. When survival is at issue, there is no choice. Israel may be wrong but let others carry the burden of mistaken belief this time. Last time it cost 6 million Jewish lives and muliples of that, incidentally, of non-Jewish lives.
