With respect, but when I read BBC coverage of the latest upheavel, Iron Dome intercepted 145 incoming missiles (out of the 200 fired by Hamas). Quite a different number than Haaretz is telling us here, and important for the effectiveness of the Iron Dome system. Love and support for Israel in this war of attrition against an impossible enemy!
Compared to what? The thousands of Palestinian men, women and children killed by the IDF in the past 60 years. Now that finally a rocket from Gaza kills a few Israelis, Israel is up in arms and cries foul. Blame all of this and any future rockets that may kill Israeli citizens or soldiers, stricktly on Netanyahu and his killing machine the IDF. I've lived through far worse bombardments and front line combat. You should see how it is when NORA howitzers rain death and destruction on your city, or live through aerial carpet bombing. These things Hamas is firing are firecrackers in comparison. But even that is nothing until you live through BM21 GRAD bombardment. Nothing, but nothing lasts forever. Israel will not always be in the position whereby it can dictate to not only those under the jackboot, but also those in surrounding countries. With the inevitable & terminal decline of the USA (who thought that a few years ago) Israel will lose its only benefactor on the World stage and will find itself truly alone. The cost of funding the settlers, the IDF better schooling & general infrastructure, will force the Israelis into a more humble status with its neighbors; the current cold war will bankrupt the country. That tiny patch of dirt you call Middle East is not the whole world. Noose around Israel is tightening more every day, and these kind of firing exercises by the IDF only make faster. Israel killed Jabari because the so called ceasefire never existed and Israel has been under constant rocket fire from Gaza. The amount of rockets increased in the last few days and then and only in response to the increased rocket attacks, the Israeli government decided to retaliate. So the question that has to be asked is why they have waited at all, or maybe why the international media seems to very conveniently ignore any kind of aggression from Gaza.
I heard IDF spoke woman and there was no official ceasefire. Israel killed Jabbari because more than a million Israeli citizens have been living in shelters for weeks. As a matter of fact for years. That's a good enough reason to kill that terrorist. Hamas cannot start a war whenever it wants and then stop it whenever it wants. Three days ago the IDF killed 2 Palestinian boys playing football in an open field. They were not human shields but they were murdered anyway. When a grandfather, his 15 year old grandson and the gandson's friend were shot and killed by an IDF sharpshooter as they tended their fields not far from the wall were they being used as human shields? Not at all. The Palestinian civilians are not being used as human shields. That is just an Israeli excuse for the killing of so many Palestinian women and children.
