Lebanese security forces have arrested a Palestinian man suspected of aiding Israeli intelligence, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported on Friday.

The resident of the Bourj A-Shimali refugee camp in southern Lebanon allegedly supplied information to Israel over a five year period, according to the report.

Investigators who raided the suspect's home found advanced communications and spy devices that the man allegedly used to contact the Israeli agents via the internet.

An investigation into spying for Israel has led to more than 50 arrests since last year, including holding a former brigadier general of the General Security directorate. More than 20 have been formally charged.

Lebanon, which is in a state of war with Israel, has described the arrests as a major blow to Israel's spying networks in the country. Hezbollah has called for the death penalty for all suspects convicted of spying for Israel.

and i agree wholeheartedly, problem is the half that spy for israel think their doing the right thing, to bad many of the sla were left for dead when israel pulled out in 2000, not to say that the ones spying for syria are right also.

as long as they were found with the equipment and a fair trial, having said that, they should have at least 5 years to prove their innocence, after that, the firing squad, why do i think this?, they helped an enemy kill many innocents, plain and simple.

Problem is that historically in many arab countries, being accused to espionage is a simple way to kill someone. I have read many headlines saying something along the lines of five accused to espionage, killed.
