Israeli soldier on Facebook: There's nothing better than a dead Arab

Well think about it. He's in the military fighting Arabs . Isn't it his job to kill? So he's allowed to kill Arabs but you condem him for saying there's nothing better than killing Arabs when that's his job? Really now?

Someone should remind this soldier that the Nazis said "nothing better than a dead Jew". When will humanity learn?

Just an order to "monitor" soldiers. That is, Its okay to have these sentiments. just don't tell the world. Lets see if any soldiers are discharged because of this.

Ive seen this phrase in hundreds among israelis on facebook, just for u to know i am also an israeli and did the army there. Also discussed real hard with some friends who permitted idiot israelis post this phrase on their wall. I already ddont live in Israel, thank god or whatever, ive seen more than i would like to

It is evil to say "there is nothing better than a dead Jew". Did you read that? But more evil for a national army to allow a soldier to say or to believe "there is nothing better than a dead Arab". Unless, of course, the entire army is evil.

The most moral army in the world has a few loose canons.

A soldier certainly should not post anything like that on Facebook but I think a very large percentage of the Israeli public feel that the only good arab is a dead arab. Nobody other than a small number on the far left want the arabs.

He has no place in the army nor in any decent society......as for those who allow him to remain in the army one wonders if they themselves have any place there

I'm as appalled as anyone should be at this kind of garbage; and yes, the IDF should reprimand and punish the individual - taking away his gun and letting him sweep paths would be a good start. But to turn this into a major news story? Come on. Facebook posts hardly constitute a reflection of a society. We could put up dozens of warm and fuzzy comments that other soldiers are putting up - but that is neither news nor any better of an indicator of anything than this idiot's postings. The fact that 150 people saw it fit to share this article says more about those people than about the soldier or anything he supposedly represents. Can we please focus on the real news, people?

I offer no excuse for this soldier's writing. Being on Facebook and Twitter allows you to speak your mind but at least be intelligent enough to know that whatever you put out there is open to all. I wonder if this soldier knew it would blow up in his face like this. I can tell you from experience that this is tame compared to what it out there on arab and muslim web sites daily calling for the extinction of Israel and Jews around the world.

Racist acts are everyday occurances in Israel and particulary in the OT. Its the official policy jews first & last, arabs no where. Ignore idots on facebook, lets get the ICC opening human rights cases and seeking a bit of justice for a change.

Is this just another bad Apple Israel? I'm looking through the box, and there seems to be a looot of bad apples piling up. Well nothing will happen anyway, slap on the wrist, and then he'll be free again to continue his work.

Issue is much deeper. This soldier was opted to write what he felt. Issue here is that there could be hundreds if not thousands of soldiers and civilians who carry the same sentiments.

Seriously, asking the soldier to delete the post on Facebook is too harsh a reprimand... I mean, this soldier who carries weapons that could end human life and obviously has tendencies to do so, is being asked to delete the posts on Facebook? The poor soldier must've had a traumatizing experience talking with his battalion commander...

If a German soldier nowadays gets chucked out of the army for doing a Hitler salute or singing the Horst Wessel Song, I can't see why the IDF can't dismiss racists like that outright, if they mean it.
