An internal Foreign Ministry document maintains that the additional sanctions imposed on Iran in recent months have caused far more damage to the Iranian economy than previous believed and have sparked additional domestic criticism of the regime.

10 0 0How are the sanctions having significant impact just after a week after Nutt-anyahu was telling the world that they weren't?
- By AKeenReader

Can't the Israeli govt make their minds up about the fact or is it the firm decision by Obama not to draw the red line gave Nutt-anyahu to change his mind after barking the whole time. The Israeli PM should not expect any sympathy from the the UNGA.

07 0 0Impact of the Sanctions
- By John

I know firsthand from some Persians that the economy in Iran is worse and worsening, with pessimistic forecasts and hoarding of dollars as the Rial further inflates. I hope that this weakens the current regime's influence so that we will see a relatively peaceful solution rather than a war which could eventually embroil several major powers. Ahmadinejad is increasingly irrelevant.

You are just a apologist of everything that is anti-Western or anti-Israel (or even anti-Semitic at times). Whether it is Iran, Syria, Hizbollah, Hamas, the Taliban, whatever extremist rogue entity you can think of, from your armchair you are a willing supporter of all countries or organizations breaking international law. You have the mind of a terrorist and deserve nothing but contempt. Maybe you became somewhat frustrated in life?

04 0 0Sanctions are working towards insisting that Iran stop enriching uranium above 20 percent
- By Smadar

- 05:47AM
It's not appropriate to lift sanctions against Iran when the world is not assured that their nuclear enrichment is satisfactory for domestic utility. It's not a game. It's very serious to the whole ME region.
