International law says anybody has the right to leave his country, and sell all his possessions before leaving. What is up? Israel has been a sleep since 1948 and now all the sudden they woke up and think that they have a refugee problem like the Palestinians? Facts are: about 800'000 Jews lived in Arab countries in 1948, almost none live there today. Many of them were forced to leave, often leaving their houses, properties, etc. others left freely (mainly the Moroccan Jewish communities). The State of Israel strongly encouraged the Jewish exodus from Arab countries, sometimes even in agreement with an Arab state (Iraq for example) and then discriminated heavily against the Oriental Jewish communities in Israel. For many years the Jews which left the Arab countries were no political issue. The State of Israel kept very quiet about these Jewish refugees simply because their coming to Israel was part of the fulfillment of the Zionist dream. The fact that this issue has popped up in the last few years is simply because today it fits into the agenda of preventing the "two state solution" or any serious agreement with the Palestinians. There is no Jewish refugee problem today, all "oriental" Jews have settled well, in Israel, France, Canada, Italy, South America or elsewhere on this planet. There is however a triple Palestinian problem. Firstly there are still many refugees living in camps in the Occupied Territories, in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. Secondly there are more than 3 million Palestinians living in a state of political limbo in the region of the Palestinian Authority and Gaza. These Palestinians are subjected to daily harassment by the State of Israel and by the Jewish settlers within their territory. Thirdly there are more than 1.5 million Palestinians living as Israeli citizens within the internationally recognized borders of the State of Israel which do not have the same rights (and duties) of the Jewish citizends. Bringing up the "Jewish Refugee Problem" is simply propaganda.

THIS VAIN ATTEMPT IS AIMED AT ECLIPSING THE SIX DECADE OLD PROBLEM OF PLESTINIAN REFUGEES . IT IS LIKE CRIMINAL CALLING AN INNOCENT A CRIMINAL. JEWS FROM AROUND THE WORLD CAME TO ISRAEL AT THE INDUCEMENT OF THUGS OF TEL AVIV. JEWS ALSO KEEP COMING FROM US AND EUROPE ASLO LODGE CLAIM FROM THEM.

Consider the "logic" of Ayalon's argument i.e. there can be no peace between Israel and Palestine until they address an issue that was (a) not caused by Palestinians, and was (b) not suffered by Israelis. The wars were fought on behalf of the palestinians by almost all arab countries, so they don`t can claim to be the only victims.

So do these "refugees" want to return to the Arab countries they came from, like the Palestinians? Do they want to end 45 years of military occupation of their countries? What happened to our famous Jewish brains that fools like this can have a "conference" and not burst out in laughter.
