It would be interesting to know how much it cost Israel to defend itself recently, calling up troops and all the ordinance used costs money, why should Israeli taxpayers bear the costs of defending themselves? The money kept should be used to offset these costs!!

With that comes a great many responsibilities and that means paying their bills for the utilities Israel provides them! What, they expect the Israeli population to pay for Palestinian consumers too? Israel got it right and hope they charged interest on the debt for late payment!

Whilst Bibi might have taken this money as a punishment for Abbas stunt at the UN the palestinians did OWE this money to Israel. They should actually be grateful it was taken because not so long ago Israel Electric was talking about cutting the power to the palestinians until they paid their DEBTS,now Bibi has taken some money and given it to Israel Electric so the palestinian lights won't go out. In this case Bibi had every right to withhold the money because just like everybody else debt must be repaid no saying its my right not to pay the bill because I don't want to. What Abbas should be worrying about is not paying the electric bill but is the US going to stop giving the PA money because US law says that aid money must be withheld if they do something like this at the UN so Congress may demand the hundreds of millions of Dollars the PA gets every year from the US will be withheld, then they really will have money problems.

So now, Israel withdraws much needed revenue. Maybe, this is a price worth paying for freedom .What a childish action from Netanyahu and his right wing cronies. The U.N in recognising Palestine as a non member state, now has a responsibility to ensure a lasting peace by ensuring the safety of Israels border with Gaza in return for a freeze of settlement construction in occupied land. It is essential to move on, but I fear Netanyahu is not the leader to take the process forward.

In my opinion the UN should withold its approval of Palestine until Palestine and its Arab allies compensate Israel for all the wars and casualties and time wasted they instigated against Israel since UN 1948 resolution to give us a state.
