Lebanon said last week it would allow a Gaza-bound ship called the Julia to sail, via Cyprus, despite warnings from Israel that it reserved the right to use all necessary means to stop ships that tried to sail from Lebanon to Gaza.
Mahmoud Ahmadi-Beighash, a member of the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy committee, said Iranian parliament delegates could sail on the ship rather than attempt to enter Gaza via Egypt.
"A ship is going from Lebanon to Gaza in the course of the current week and the lawmakers are following up to go to Gaza via this ship," he said in comments carried by semi-official news agency ISNA.
Ahmadi-Beighash said the decision to use the ship in Lebanon rather than Egypt's land border with Gaza was taken in a meeting with parliament speaker Ali Larijani.
Ships with Iranian aid for Gaza left this month but it was not clear if they would unload in Egypt.
Earlier this year, Egypt refused permission to an Iranian aid boat to unload after an Israeli warship told the aid boat to leave as it approached the coastal enclave of Gaza.
Israel has announced steps to ease a land blockade of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, after an international outcry over an Israeli commando raid in May on an aid flotilla that killed nine pro-Palestinian activists.
The Israeli blockade was conceived more than three years ago as a way suffocating popular support for Hamas, which refuses to recognize Israel and which seized control of Gaza in 2007.
Israel suspects Iran of supplying Hamas with weapons. Iran is under UN sanctions for its nuclear energy program which the West suspects is a cover for developing nuclear weapons.

Jerusalem needs to stand it's ground and not be wavered by international scrutiny. Let there be no mistake, Hamas prizes no other goal than death first to the Jew and then to America!
You mean those how execute teenagers for so-calles being homosexuales, and women for having sex outside the marriage Wow they are probably the highst level of humanity that the Pals. can produce, Bravo
Couple of more people to trade for Shalit
IT WILL NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE, YOUR GOVERNMENT DIDNT CAPTURE CRIMINALS ,THEY CAPTURED INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN ADDITION TO MEN THAT FIGHT FOR THEIR LAND, ACTUALLY VERY SOON YOU WILL HAVE MILLIONS ON PALESTINIAN LAND PROTESTING YOUR ILLEGAL OCCUPATION ,
First thing it needs to do, is to address each of these ships as they approach the blockade zone, requesting permission to inspect its cargo once it enters Gaza's territorial waters. If that permission is granted, it should do so by boarding the ship in a normal, and non-confrontational manner. Then if the ship is found to be free of weapons, it should be allowed to proceed. Security is then assured, it gains on the diplomatic front, not even its enemies can front a valid bitch, and those who are using these aid ship for the sole purpose of provocation will have the wind taken out of their sails, and will likely stop. Israel really needs to deactivate its 'kill switch' - I wonder if that's even possible for it do anymore - because the days of it receiving a free pass, in consideration of the Holocaust, are gone forever.
Blockades are allowed under international law because they are the best way to avoid blood shed. Enforcing blockades in international waters is allowed under international law to avoid bloodshed. Requiring inspections be done only in war zones would increase blood shed.
.... "normal, and non-confrontational manner" mean allowing the crew or passengers to attack you with clubs and not fight back? If this game plays out as Iran wants, Ashdod could well be Iran's Trinity Test. It would not be hard to hide a device in a large cargo ship. If a mushroom cloud over Ashdod would cause inconvenience, listen to WeCan2
BUT YOUR GOVERNMENT DOESNT WORK THIS WAY. ISRAEL IS INTENTIONNALY SUFFOCATING AND STARVING THE PEOPLE MAN, WHICH ONE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. ISRAEL CAN EASILY DO WHAT YOU ARE SUGGESTING BUT THIS DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OK
It is not sufficient a quick on board inspection to determine if the ship carries weapons. We all heard of double bottom suitcases to carry drugs, cash, etc. The only way to ensure the ships carry no weapons is to have them unload the cargo at an Israeli port. Once empty, the ship should return to its port of origin, "no gaza detours"
Otherwise, your response doesn't address anything I said - lol Maybe if I'd included these, you wouldn't have been confused by what I said.
THEN Israel could honestly claim its forces were "ambushed"... unlike the recent incident. Also, if you honestly think that the intention of any of these highly publicized efforts to run the blockade is to smuggle weapons, you really don't understand what's going on. And sticking with the reality of your doomsday fantasies about hidden [nuclear]devices and mushroom clouds, I venture that it would be easier for Iran to just wave its magical 'shoojoo" wand instead of pissing off the world with a bunch of make believe fallout from your imagined cloud? Better yet, why not reserve discussion on Iranian nukes until the time it crosses that threshold?
...that was reported just yesterday in Haaretz to have been cancelled? Man, ain't it the truth: spin too much and you end up not knowing wether you are coming or going......
If they violated the law, arrest them. Most of all, check their connection to Hamas, Hezbollah, and the bombing of the Jewish cultural center in Argentine.
funny
Suspects, eh ? How many boats of weapons did we all see from Iran in the last few years. So suspicious that a country that promises to destroy Israel, might not be such a 'saint', that makes others SUSPECT.
then just shit up. At least 3 Iranian weaponry ships-loads were intercepted. I only hope the others went to Dave Johnes unannounced. Read newspapers, pal, improve you IQ.
