In bid to counter Palestinian efforts, Israeli diplomats told to raise issue of Jewish refugees

Whereas the Palestinian Arabs, Mohammed-come-latelys in the land in comparison to Judaism's ancient residence there did very little to build up the land and the city of Jerusalem in comparison to what the Jews accomplished from 1000 BCE to the frst Century CE in the area. A Palestinian Arab refugee problem occured mostly because of their own doing. Heeding the barbaric cries of militant Islam and Arab propaganda and fleeing the area of conflict in order to "return victorius" and pillage the built-up Jewish areas too was very tempting for the shortsighted amongst them. Other Arab populations decided to stay and became integrated into Israel proper. The shame of derelict and festering Palestinian camps is a stain on the pompous Arab nations who propagate this misery to spite Israel. Israel set an admirable example of absorbtion, something the Arab countries harboring Palestinian populations should be very jealous of.

The last two paragraphs do not "illustrate the extent of ignorance about the history of these Jews" but exposes the audacity of this newly created lie.

You mean the arab refugees who were parked like animals when they arrived in Israel ? or those Israel put in the thousands of palestinian houses ? don't manipulate the world please, You are thieves, no less.

If Israel wants to raise the Jewish issue, then first they should send all the Jewish immigrants from other countries back to where they came from and bring back the Arab Jewish refugee back. Israel created the problem for itself and now wants world sympathy? lol

This is a phoney campaign to usurp the right of the Palestinians to return to their homes in 500 towns and villages in ethnically cleansed Palestine. Without this ethnic cleansing and emptying the country there would no room for Jewish immigrants to be imported to replace them.

Can you point out to the people of the World where the Jewish refugee camps are situated? If all these people are residents of Israel or some other nation now then they are not refugees.

Of course it's only fair that Arab countries give Jews the right of return. Just as Palestinians should be given the right of return, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and other lands too should allow their Jewish refugees to come back.

Are they not citizens of a state Israel, do the not live on former Palestinian towns and villages and what do Palestinians have to do with their expulsions? Do countries like France play are part in expulsion Jews form their colonies? Palestinian refugees are stateless. If you genuinely care for the Jewish Refugees you'd support the right of other refugees if their plights are the same. I support the right of all refugees to return to their homeland

Many of the Jews from arab countries left willingly due to their zionist aspirations. To equate the injustices experienced by Palestinian refugees to that of Jewish refugees leaving arab countries is a sick and false recount of history. For a jew, leaving an arab country for Israel was a national aspiration, a dream shared by his/her forefather, a dream that came true. For a Palestinian kicked out of Palestine, the result was completely different, it was a national tragedy, a nightmare, a humiliation, there was no where else to go to. Not all Jews from arab countries had their assets nationalized, many of them sold their assets or smuggled them to Israel. Palestinians on the other hand were ALL forced to leave with none of their assets or possessions.

Jews from Arab countries are Arabs and they can return any time to their original country and live there or in any other Arab country. They are welcomed.

confused. why now of all times, when there is a real problem within israel of asylum seekers worse than in any western country? it's as if the gov't wants the people to co-opt the relevent use of the word "refugee." african sylum seekers are not even "refugees" became israel does not have refugee status determinators in place. NOTE: jewish arab refugees fled to israel, but they also fled to other countries, and were given "refugee" status. For example, many Moroccan Jewish refugees fled to France, and were given refugee status because France was following international LAW. Stand up, israel, and be a homme! Can't you do better morally than France?? Start giving refugee status to asylum seekers from africa, and join the monde!

The establishment never seemed to care before. There is no parity. Of the 500, 000 Arabs how many had to leave under the threat of death? How many were raped ? How many lost their lives? These Arabs who left to get out of the path of the war have been given shelter, food, and endless billions. They've been given every outlet to continue the war they started and to perpetuate lies they've been making up from the beginning. And what of the millions of Jews and their descendants? Even their own brothers didn't want to hear the stories of their suffering and dispossession.

No lie or act of evil is too low for today's New-Israel. If they refugees, then they should have applied to Palestinian authorities for asylum, not stolen most of Palestine at gun-point.

Israel wishes to make the Palestinians suffer and pay for what Syria or Egypt or Iraq did? How is that fair? Oh, my bad,. -Israel never played fair.

Israel can no longer get away with condemning the actions of others and then following the examples that they have condemned. This is not how a legitimate nation behaves and certainly not a western style democracy. It is the overpowering ill will that is always evident in Israel's actions. Attempting to derail the very legitimate desire of the Palestinians to gain their own state has made it impossible for anybody to view Israel with sympathy. Even those politicians that support Israel do it for their own selfish reasons. They have no respect nor affection for Israel. "Countermeasures taken by Israel to coerce support from nations such as Germany, America, and Canada are less and less effective. Currently we have seen examples of the American and German governments spitting right in Israel's eye. This would have never happened even a few years ago. As for the people of the world, there is zero support for Israel. There is never a pro-Israel demonstration anywhere in the world except for those that are orchestrated by the Jewish lobby to counter an anti-Israel demonstration. It is impossible for Israel to recover at this point because they have no credibility. None. I wonder how many people in the world today are praying for Iran to finish their nuclear program quickly. SOmebody has to stand up to Israel in a more definite fashion than Obama has shown us so far. It may as well be Iran.

The Palestinians have more than enough votes to win recognition in the Ganeral assembly. There is nothing that Israel can do that will effect the outcome. If Israel takes any action at all in an attempt to derail an upgrade to the Palestinian's status at the UN, it will only work against Israel. The strange thing is that Israelis seem to dim to understand this.

This myth of mass expulsion of Jews from Muslim states in 1948 can easily be debunked by checking the Jewish population statistics in Muslim states during the period of 1948-1950 on the Jewish virtual library...if they haven't already changed it in advance of this new initiative. Furthermore, if I were the Palestinian refugee, I would simply concede this falsehood and then say fine, let me come home and let them go back! If the Muslim states that they were allegedly "expelled" from agree...then watch how quick Israel reverses it's position!
