Isn't there something in the treaty about Egypt no being used as a launching pad for terrorist attacks?

It was temporary deployment and with a good reason. If the tanks had remained, or if there was a continuous buildup of armor in that area, we could talk of peace agreement violations. As it is, this was just a temporary measure aimed at providing support for IDF personnel under duress.

the tanks are still 'within' the State of Israel borders. So, your title is wrong. What is correct is that it was EGYPT who violated the Camp David Treaty in August 2011, by deploying "thousands of troops along with tanks to the Sinai, in an attempt to re-establish security in the region." Now that IS currently an on-going Egyptian violation. In addition, they let the Sinai become a safe--haven for El-Kaida along with illegal traffiking of foreigners, prostitutes and drugs into Israel.
