In a harshly worded announcement, the Islamist group declared that "our patience will soon run out" and that they would not remain silent for long, Israel Radio reported.
"You know that the hands that have reached the heart of the occupier can reach you too," Hamas warned, referring to its recent attacks against Israelis in the West Bank, adding that Hamas cannot be stopped, and will strike anywhere, at any time it wishes.
The announcement came after Palestinian Authority security officials arrested six of the suspected perpetrators of two shooting attacks against Israelis last week.
Four Israelis were killed in a shooting attack last Tuesday, and two more were wounded in a similar attack the following day.
The officials said that they had arrested members of two separate cells involved in the two attacks, including two shooters and a third support man in both cases.
The officials said that they view these attacks with extreme severity and that they would do everything in their power to prevent further attacks against Israelis.
The attacks occurred on the eve of an official relaunch of U.S.-sponsored direct peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority in Washington. The Islamist Palestinian Hamas, which claimed responsibility for both attacks, vowed to carry out more attacks unless talks ceased. The group does not feel that the Palestinian Authority, headed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, has the authority to negotiate on behalf of the Palestinian people.

so go on strike then!
you can not ignore 1.5 million of Palestinians living in Gaza ghetto!
No israel, No Palestine. One State Solution is the best for all. One Man, One Vote, Equality for all inhabitants. Equal Pay for Equal Work, Equal Water Rights. No Apartheid, No Segregation...A Very True Secular Democrac Let us call it: “State of Holy Land”.
Hamas attacks Fatah. Fatah attacks Hamas. Divide and Rule old theory. Enough is enough!
Palestinian Authority security officials arrested six of the suspected perpetrators of two shooting attacks against Israelis last week. israel is practising the theory of Divide and Rule.
Let's get a Palestinian state in place ASAP. This stuff would become little more than bad memories.
Yas abbas,pa should cancel so called peace talk.in this talk there is no equility and honour of PA.because abbas has no powar to aqure anything from israel.so hamas threat to abbas is proper
Fatah should be strong and attack Hamas wherever they are
They are merely islamist killers and must be eliminated. in this case Israel must protect the WB arabs.
Bibi and Obama will ignore Hamas warning just as they have Iran's threat to wipe Israel off the map .Both leaders promised Iran would not become a nuclear power,Iran has now achieved this .It is not only Hamas watch out for Hizbolla, who with the support of Iran are at this very moment hours away from Rosh Hashana moving heavy equipment to the Lebaneses Border . Israel and the USa you are warned ,wake up .
The fight between Hamas and Fatah is not a power struggle between good guys and bad guys: it is a rivalry between bad guys and bad guys. [Khaled Abu Toameh]
Not throwing you off tall buildings.
Let them prove that Abbas speaks for the "Palestinians".
Hamas has taken over Gaza is few hours, WB is no different really. Hamas influence is beyond WB & Gaza. PA must be ready for the worst at any time!
RAMALLAH, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) on Monday denied reports saying the Hamas militants have been arrested in connection with recent attacks against Israelis in the West Bank, the Palestinian forces spokesman said. "I don't confirm these news and we don't have any information indicting that those persons were detained," Adanan Damiri said. On Tuesday, Israel's Haaretz newspaper reported that the Palestinian forces arrested two Hamas operatives who fired at an Israeli car near Ramallah city and wounded a couple on Sept. 1.
and Israelis which is incompatible with Hamas having a free hand. The PA should correctly treat Hamas as gangsters and criminals, not as ideology driven movement. And so should the rest of the world: this is the only path to a conciliation in the ME.
If Hamas is trying this hard to stop the peace talks it is only because they are afraid they will succeed. I firmly believe that if the Palestinian people see a fair peace deal taking shape the vast majority will reject those that reject peace. Hamas would not be trying this hard if they did not fear the success of these talks. This is what gives me hope.
Thats sounds reasonable. If hamas does not want to have more members being arrestyed, perhapos stop doing what is causing the arrests...simple things like murder. Try that for a bit, I bhetn the arrests stop. If you dont like it, then bring it on. Any excuse this time not to wipe you out to the last man.
We can sit back and watch both of these groups kill each other that will solve the problem AM YISRAEL CHAI
Peace talks? Independence? Own Infrastructure? Oh yeah, dream on, useful gullable idiots from international community. What you've got? Not a spoiled child, but a grownup with final stage of drug addicts mentality: if peace will be made they'd be weaned from free money and they are ready to kill not to have it happened. That's latest events and support uproar enable them in their actions. Here, take what you've sewn, fill it up. Well, unfortunately it's not you but Israel will have to deal with them.
The hands, the blood, the Martyr, death, rot, Hell and damnation. Children with guns that are bigger than themselves. Pathetic macho non events ready to murder their own people once again.
Your headline makes it sound as if Hamas is only reacting to this arrest of shooting suspects. The fact is that other stories report the PA has arrested HUNDREDS of Hamas in the West Bank, and that is presumably why the threat has been made.
When there are billions of dollars at stake in reparations for illegally acquiring Palestinian territory, the propagandistas must be spinning like tops
I wonder how many more unarmed, innocent, Israeli's will die due to these forced 'supposed' peace talks Obama insists upon? ( and one of those Israeli's who was assassinated, was a pregnant woman and mother, a special target of terrorists) Hamas refuses any peace concessions to Israel or to Fatah, again adding more Israeli deaths that reaffirms them as one of the bloodiest of all the terroristic organizations. Meanwhile, Fatah makes demands that ALL of Jerusalem, Judea, etc. be handed to them. (What? such a blatant way to remove 'Jew' from Judea???, no way possible) Add to the pot, Iran, who uses the Pals as their own personal, inexpensive proxies who, when all is said and done, will most likely die 10 to 1 ( or more) as history continues to counts the casualties. That, plus another war on Gaza or, Cast Lead, act two, will be a direct result of this disaster inspired and initiated by Obama. What a wretched way to murder Israeli's first, Pals second and far more, and know this all preventable. Oy Vez mer!!
Abbas is risking much, if not all, to keep the peace talks going.
Her wise counsel is sorely needed.
it must be a zionist conspiracy.
It appears that circumstances like the one above does not relate or support Mrs. Durson twisted arguments. So she would refrain from even registering events like this all together.
Time for Plaestinians to unite and declare a state. THE WORLD IS WITH YOU---JUST DO IT.
Why are you so sorry that Palestinians are starting to act like a state eventually? Are you frightened with the possibility of peace?
Time for Palestinians to unite and dissolve the so called Palestinian Authority, the symbol and source of every tragic aspect of Palestinian life.
instead of telling the Palestinians what to do? Isn't Londonderry occupied territory?
Without negociations? It's against the Oslo agreement and the road map. But I'm sure you don't care about it. By the way, on what part of the territory do you want this state to be established, on the West Bank or in Israel proper? See, Abbas is trying to negociate with Israel in order to get a state alongside Israel but Hamas doesn't seem to like the idea. Unfortunately, you've chosen Hamas way.
Time for the Palestinians to do what they always do... Destroy every single opportunity handed to them in favor of violence.
Israel MUST stand up to Hamas' threats. If they strike, punish them. PALS MUST stand up to Hamas' threats. If they strike, punish them. I see no other path to peace.
that is israeli speciality.
What do you call missiles, fighter bombers, tanks, Cast Lead etc As for seeing no other path for peace, try taking away the reason they're retaliating... Article Thirty-One: “As to those who have not borne arms against you on account of religion, nor turned you out of your dwellings, Allah forbiddeth you not to deal kindly with them, and to behave justly towards them; for Allah loveth those who act justly.” (The Tried – verse 8).
How can PA engage in peace talks with Israel without even consulting with HAMAS who are averagely the other 50% of Palestinians? If I was Hamas I would have struck the PA before the Settlers as the PA crimes of treason is far greater than the settlers.
If a peace agreement is signed, Hamas' goose is cooked.
Hamas cannot be stopped, and will strike anywhere, at any time it wishes. --- who talkks like that a child??? an animal????
When will the sensible speak up on both sides and demand their govts crush extremism on both sides of the fence? I vote for public executions witnessed by both peoples!! Crush extremism with extremism. Sure you'll argue that this does not make us better than the extremists...I can live with that in the short term.
I hope these beasts start shooting at each other so I can sit back and cheer for the bullets.
are those not supporting the ANP...
horray "God Choosen People"...Enjoy the show
Unfortunately in the final analysis, Hamas will prevail. In the Muslim world the extremists always win because the silent majority is not exactly opposed to the terrorists. Groups like Hamas or Al Qaida act out the fantasies of the street. Between the everyman's vicarious thrills over a 9/11 or the massacre of an innocent family and the outright fear of being a victim of these organized murderers, there is not much hope for peace.
You have no idea what you are talking about and you are in way over your head here. Don't go about spouting nonsense, you just embarrass yourself.
that makes stereotypes about people...So you belive in the Jewish stereoypes?
Not that anyone hopes these animals win, but if they do, Israel can drop the pretense of negotiating with the terrorists in suits and kick the ass of the ones with their faces covered. Their goals are the same, but with different ways of achieving them. If the 'Palestinains' were smart, they would back Fatah, because its their only chance for a deal. Backing Hamas will exact the max death toll for the avg. Pal on the street and ensure they remain stateless in perpetuity.
1. You've no idea what you're talking about 2. You are in way over your head 3. Don't go about spouting nonsense 4. You're just embarrassing yourself Well, my sincere compliments on your dialectical skills, but then that's what you lefties are known for, isn't it?
JJ Grooss had it right. The Satanic Verses have fatal consequences for the ignorant who use it as an excuse to murder. Hamas, and Fatah will face off, indirectly and both Hamas and Fatah publicly display their refusal to recognize Israel for if they do, their side loses. ( they have already, just a matter of time before both of these entities are eliminated.)
it would bring stability to the region, improve the moral standing of the Pals internationally, Israel would perceive it as a serious sign of maturity and put closure to the "drive them to the sea mentality" and finally, undermine iran's quest for growing influence in the region. Pals - this is your time to show the world what path you've chosen
settlement (no pun intended) with the P.A. > Israel will attack Gaza and remove Hamas wholeheartedly. The P.A. is not capable of doing this. Any activity by Hezbollah will be countered with extreme bombardment (Iron Panther / Gadi Eizenkot is waiting). IDF internal problems ? > not when it goes to war. Other Arab countries will do nothing and the influence of Iran is decreased. Shalom to all and sleep well.
in order to please Israel and thank them for all their "acts of kindness", such as land theft, illegal occupation and settlements, blockades, bombing, shelling, checkpoints, home demolitions, imprisonments, assasinations?
anything so enlightened is not about to happen in the muslim world anytime soon.
It is not likely that Israel will see either side of a muslim revolt as promising anything except a consolidation of their enemies resources. The verbiage that incites violence against Israel is still in the charters of both factions. Which ever one survives the purge will be stronger and unified in purpose.
Why do you think the PA keeps postponing its elections? It's because they know Hamas would win hands down. Everything you wrote is eminently logical, but unfortunately the Arabs don't follow the rules of logic that govern civilized societies.
As long they strike each other, no problem. The members of the religion of peace will kill each other. How hilarious. How could the Pals get along with Israel ? They don't even get along with each other
We look on PA as just another Isareli accupation, and we see Abbas as traitor. That is why hamas won the elections
religion killing one another.Makes you want to convert.NOT
As long they strike each other, no problem.??
Many observers believe that Iran has upped he ante and persuaded Hamas to launch attacks on Israeli citizens in wake of the Peace Talks. Hamas has been relatively quiet since the devastating operation code named Cast Lead. Promises of sophisticated weaponry and increased financial support, plus which this writer believes some "Arm twisting", has placed Hamas into a precarious situation. For, Hamas may well have its aims of overturning the possible peace talks, Hamas must also take into account that the world watches, that any sympathy gained and Aid Flotillas may well have been in vain, unless Hamas has been totally overcome by the despotic theocracy, in which case, Hamas is no more than a direct offshoot of Iran, the one country that is run by the most despised Regime on planet earth. The intentions of the PA are clear, they seek peace and security. They seek a better life for their citizens. What does Hamas seek for their citizens.? Do we have to guess.? I would say, that if a referendum were held today in Gaza, they good people, the majority, would vote Hamas out of office. Good day.
Did you not know srael is in illustrious company. Oh, I forgot to mention--they are also the least trusted. Quite an achievement for Israel---eh what.

by all countries including the Islamic states.
1. Name for me a few time periods when Jews was loved and accepted. 2. Name for me 1 science and tech achivement refused by the world only because it came from Israel. 3.Last but not least. When asking for confirmation of other's statements, name 1 reliable source to support yours.
It's been going on for over 1000 years.
Stephen, welcome to the Israel-Palestinian crisis. You're alluding that, just perhaps, is it possible, that Hamas is a dark force, and just perhaps is it possible that Iran is supporting Hamas, and perhaps is it possible that folks that support the flotilla will find out the association of hamas to iran and stop supporting the flottila. It is precisely this naiveté that Israel is fighting daily in the media and on the ground. So allow me to point out the obvious for the perplexed: the palestinian charter per hamas is a bloody murderous scene, as is Iran's charter. Stop seeing it as gray matter. Fight against it and rally others to see the truth.
