Israel never signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. They never said they wouldn't develop nuclear weapons. The Syrians did sign it, they did say they wouldn't develop nuclear weapons. There is no equivalence here.

Why should the ICC look at this? Since these "crimes" led to so many civilian casualties?

On nuclear reactors? You claim to have to ability to analyze these photographs and to conclude that these constructions are meant for nuclear energy? In addition, can you please explain to me, why, of all countries, Syria chose North Korea, the most militarized totalitarian regime in the world, to build a reactor for peaceful purposes. Right, of course, makes total sense. Amazing how ignorant Europeans (Dutch?) can be.

This reactor is quite clearly designed for weapons and not energy. It does not take a great deal of knowledge to recognize that. Reactors for power and reactors for weapons are very different things. There is nothing about this site that would indicate it was intended for power purposes. If it was to be a power plant, where are the transformers? Where are the turbines? Where are the heat exchangers? Why would they chose a location so remote from population centers where electricity is actually needed?

How will you get proof? Will you take the Syrian regime's word for it that it is a civilian energy reactor? IAEA inspectors were not allowed to visit sites in Syria so it was not possible to obtain legitimate "proof".

before a country develops nuclear weapons, they have to ask themselves, will we ever use them? can we use them? do we need them? in the case of syria, its a no no no. hence why im convinced they wouldnt develop them. how many wars has syria been involved in the past 40 years? how many wars has america, israel been in the past 40 years? whose a bigger threat to the world? syria or america and israel?
