Michael Oren has something that Binah (or frankly any non-American born Israeli) does not: a legitimate understanding of American culture/politics, particularly regarding the American Jewish community. I was recently at a dinner that the head of the Israeli Consulate in New York spoke at, and his speech was so tone deaf that it was honestly hard to believe that Israel had appointed him to any diplomatic position at all, let alone one above the level of 'intern.' Israelis should be thankful to have somebody as great as Oren in DC.
thank you
