On Friday Hillary Rodham Clinton left her State Department office in Washington for the last time. In four years she has traveled nearly a million miles and visited 112 countries, more than any other U.S. secretary of state. For Israelis and Palestinians, Clinton's exit is a sad departure.

It always amazes me how so many Ha'aretz reporters manage to blame Israel for the fact that we don't have a peace treaty with the Palestinians. They seem to totally ignore the fact that the Palestinians are intransigent and have no intention of coming to any agreement with us. Their goal is and always has been to rid Israel of all Jews and take over our land. For the Americans or anyone else to urge us to make peace, to be 'nice' to the Palestinians is to play the fool, which is what Clinton (and Obama) has done for the duration of her role as Secretary of State. Empathy? That's what you think the Palestinians are waiting for? A further freeze on settlements? (As if the 10 months wasn't a foolish mistake) That's what will bring Palestinians to the table? Barak Ravid lives in a different world than I do.
