Israel does not expect the truce to hold. Israel is counting on it not to hold. Netanyahu and his friends are so much in need of a conflict to divert attention from his insane policies, his betting on the wrong horse in the US-election, and the lousy economic situation in Israel. He needs an 'enemy at the gate' in order to gather people around him. It's the same old story - it repeats itself everytime there is an election. Sad!

Well Gianni, the problem with your reasoning is that you dismisses what the rest of the sane world considers obvious, i.e. that action begets reaction. Israel is an occupying nation . in breach of internationa laws. Israel is imprisoning 1,5 million people from babies to old and weak people. This is the receipe for having bombs thrown at you. If you don't realize this then I am afraid that discussing with you is futile. I am not a fan of Hamas, and I don't like their Islamic views. The 'funny' part is that Israel played an active part in the creation of Hamas back in 1987. Why? Because Israel needed to divide the Palestinian Fatah resistance. They succeded, but now the face bombs from their own creation.

So, what about the earlier 1500 years? Have a look at the number slaughers of Jews by Arabs before there were settlements, before there was an occupation, before there was an Israel and before the idea of Zionism was born.
