Barack Obama must win back Israeli hearts

Why should Obama win back Israeli hearts? Obama protecting the rightwing Jewish American donor base is understandable. A complacent Israeli public is more likely when American Presidents' sprout their endless garbage re 'unbreakable bonds' along with the substantive acts of American support mentioned in article. And a more complacent Israeli public will then either actively engage in (or ignore) the continued Jewish colonisation of Palestinian land. The one thing that will not happen is Israelis taking any words of caution from Obama seriously - and that is, if he in fact provides any words of caution. All we have seen so far is Obama doing the donkey big time for Israel. The US has been able to ignore the valid pleas for justice from Palestinians; what makes Israelis think that, at some time in the future, when Zionism falters, that the US will not be quite competent to also ignore their belated pleas for justice.

My US tax$$$ will help israel too as usual.

Bomb bomb bb is no friend of the United States and we the People are getting tired of the blatant Disrespect for The United States of America not of Israel we could use the 3 billion here we give Israel!

Except maybe the 20% 0f Israelis. The ones who are not supporting oppression and land theft.

Perhaps he should focus on the pockets of the israelis. Withdrawal of all US aid, and tough economic sanctions are the only way to the hearts and minds of the israelis and peace.

There comes a time when Israel should say 'Thank You' with a loud & clear voice,in spite of its ups & downs. Obama is a friend of Israel.

Isn't giving Israel every weapon they request enough? Isn't giving Israel $3 billion in aid at at time when millions of Americans have lost their jobs and their homes enough? Isn't protecting Israel at the U.N. every time enough? Isn't an extra $300 million for Iron Dome enough? Isn't the greatest level of military and intelligence cooperation between Israel and America in history enough? You Israelis are spoiled. You think you have the right to run our foreign policy and dictate to America and our President how we should behave and you expect us to get into a war with Iran on your behalf. The American people are getting tired of your arrogance and your demands. Where would you be without America? Try being a little grateful and show some appreciation to America for without us you would be no different than any of your neighbors.

Israel needs to earn back global respect by ending the Occupation and Illegal settlements. If Obama chooses on this visit to do nothing about that situation then America deserves to see its status globally descend to the all time low Israel enjoys. America used to stand for Liberty and Justice...today it funds and supports Israels illegal activities in the Palestinian Territories.

President Obama has been and continues to defend the rights of the Israeli people, but what he shouldn’t do, is to listen to Israel’s Prime Minister of advocating the Bush version of go it alone. We have the means to stop Iran and the Americans who disavow that fact, are just playing politics. Take a look at Iraq – 1.7 Trillion dollars; 4,500 dead Americans; Amputees by the tens of thousands; mentally ill by the tens of thousands; hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis; and for what? All we did was replace a Sunni Dictator with a Shiite Dictator who ended up giving his loyalty to Iran. George W. Bush was an idiot and that is a fact!

He's the AMERICAN president, not the Israeli President. Israel collects 3.1billion dollars a year in financial donations from the United States. It should shut up and be grateful.
