Protesters against Israel's Gaza operation arrested in New Delhi
Demonstration comes a day after worldwide protests demanded an end to Israel's bombing campaign.
Dozens of students demonstrated outside the Israeli embassy in New Delhi on Monday, protesting Israel's operation in the Gaza Strip, local media reported. The students, from Jawaharlal Nehru University, were arrested. Another rally was held in Srinagar, capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
On Sunday, protests against Israel's airstrikes were held in several cities around the world, including Istanbul, London, Cairo and Hong Kong.
In Paris, pro-Palestinian protesters tried to force their way into a synagogue with bats and chairs, then fought with security officers who blocked their way. Some carried signs reading "Gaza is a concentration camp" and called out "Death to Jews."
In Los Angeles, California, a federal officer fired shots during a pro-Israel peace rally in front of the Federal Building in Los Angeles after a pro-Palestinian group showed up and the two sides began clashing.
