Israeli army: No rockets fired at Eilat
IDF confirms that the Iron Dome battery deployed near the southern city fired to intercept what was believed to be a rocket, but turned out to be a false alarm.
The Iron Dome anti-missile system in Eilat accidently fired interceptor missiles on Tuesday morning, prompting fears that rockets were fired into city.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed later that it was a false alarm.
Residents reported hearing a number of explosions at around 9:00 A.M., which turned out to be the Iron Dome's interceptor missiles.
A plane making its descent for landing at the Eilat airport was ordered to circle until the incident was resolved.
