Iran defense minister: Palestinian missile power '1,000 times' stronger
Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqa praises Palestinians for firing on Israel and says they have yet to display their actual missile capabilities.
Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqa praised Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip for firing rockets on Israel and said the Palestinians' missile power has "grown 1,000 times more than it was before," the Iranian Fars News Agency reported Saturday.
“The resistance forces have fired over 150 missiles against the occupied territories in the last 4 days and after the assassination of a number of resistance commanders by the Zionist regime in Gaza and the West Bank,” Dehqa said.
He added that Palestinians have yet to display the full force their actual missile capabilities. “The operational power of the Resistance against the Zionist regime is a thousand times more than what it was before," Dehqan told FNA on Saturday, and added, "Based on the same, the Resistance's missile response power can be understood” better now.
Three Palestinians were killed Tuesday when the Israel Defense Forces struck targets in the Gaza Strip, responding to an attempted mortar shell attack on IDF forces.
Tensions escalated throughout the week, with a barrage of rockets from Gaza that began on Wednesday and was followed by numerous Israeli air force strikes.
