Deputy FM may seek charges against 'slaughter Jews' heckler

Operation "cast lead" was preceeded by 12,000 rockets fired into Israel without any concerted effort by the arab community in Gaza to stop it. Surely they know they were allowing the military wing of Hamas to goad Israeli leaders into an attack. This is the palestinian arab ploy. Goad Israel into attacking palestinian communities where bomb and rocket factories are dispersed and then run behind the skirts of women and children.

The Jewish population of the Arab countries who found refuge in Israel far out number the Arabs who fled the New State of Israel expecting to return when the Jews were thrown into the sea, how wrong they were.

Israel has just managed to get the British government to quash war-crimes arrests of Israeli government officials and now an Israeli official wants charges brought against a heckler? The fool should quit while Israel is ahead.

A crime is only found to have been committed if the person alledged to have committed the crime is found guilty or pleads guilty in a court of law. Until such time the person who said whatever he said is the accused. In the UK the jury are asked in an adversarial court system to weigh up the evidence for and against and to pronounce whether this person is guilty or not. The Judge decides whatever the sentence will be. Which is likely to be a fine if it is a first offence. I care because Israel has tried to persuade the UK government to change the law of arrest in favour of it's citizens, I also care because Ayalon is portraying himself in the Israeli press as being the sole arbitrator of who will or will not be prosecuted under British Law. Which is not the case.

A crime was committed on British soil. It is up to the legal authorities to enforce the law. The jury's role is to decide whether to sentence. Why do you care so much anyway?

This was not mentioned in the Haaretz article, but the Times reported that there is a recorded video tape of the incident. If they are properly able to decipher the audio which was spoken, which they are in the currently processing, they will easily have a case against whatever student unwisely decided to yell such hateful things.

Don't know how it works in Israel. but in the UK the police investigate to see if a crime has been carried out. If it has the person is arrested then charged by the Police. The Director of Public Prosections then puts a case together. IF there is a chance of success then the matter is taken to court. There whoever said this then ccan pleade giuilty, not guilty. Not Guilty means a trial by jury, if that happens he/she will probably get off. So I doubt the case will proceed.

How sad that Israeli spokesmen are treated in this way abroad ( US ,UK and others). There was a time not so long ago that Israeli personalities were treated with respect and admiration. Could it possibly be due to the change that has happened in Israel or will these events be attributed to "anti-semitism"? The report on the disturbances during Ambassador Oren's speech is woefully incomplete, and in fact misleading. It does not stress the major point, that the key members of the University Administratiion who were there roundly condemned the protesting students. It does not include too the fact that Oren elegantly defended the long historical connection between Israel and the U.S. He finished to standing applause. It should be noted that these students are in total violation of the 'ethic ' of the university world, that which encourages freedom of speech, dialogue, debate, openness to others point of view. These students most of whom are second- generation Americans have values suited to Khomeiniland and constitute a clear danger to the American way.

The material I am reading from genocide sources says the reason the Turks still deny the Armenian genocide is that the Turks are still adhering to a racial ideology (uber-mensch), that Turks are racially superior. Do you consider this legitimate language to use by opponents to protest Israel's policies? Your message seems to be that anti-Israel and anti-Jewish are one and the same thing. Fact: just yesterday 11 University of California students arrested for heckling Israeli embassador is the news, Standing ovations from LA students and staff against Israel. Then Ayalon should make a formal complaint to the police who will ivestigate and of a crime has been commited prosecute. I hear on Kol Israel that the Chinese are doing very well economically. Their banks are solid, their industry is fine, but . . . there is this little matter of Tibet. Seems whenever the Dalai Lama shows up and there is the slightest hint of an "official visit", well . . . some Western officials develop a sudden case of cold feet.
