The Israeli Palestinian problem is so much deeper and complex than the rather embacilic atitudes you have expressed, I sugjest you learn some ancient world history then gradually reach the modern times and try to get a better grasp of reality before you develope such brainwashed opinions
The Arab Hammer is IN Jerusalem (& I'm assuming he is Palestinian) and he reflects a voice of reason that if more widely adopted on both sides could bring a just peace for all . . Shukran and Salaam Arab Hammer!
Jane, I think it's ironic that such a hard-core policy comes from one of the most colonialist nations in the world! How would you like to risk your safety and security from within Israel to stand up against the majority, just to have people who allege to be on your side work AGAINST you? Shall we sabotage the efforts of the soldiers who refuse to serve in the army, or just refuse to serve in the territories as well? Stop responding with your rightous indignation, and think strategically . .
Max, Thank you - it's easier for me to have patience when I'm writing (rather than in person)! In peace, Lisa
Until ALL Israelis are made to pay for their country's disgusting and murderous policies against the indigenous population, nothing will change.
I haven?t heard of David Broza before but I will try and dig up some info on him. I quite like his music and would like to know more about where he stands politically. I disagree with Max who asks to boycott Broza. As a Palestinians Arab, I personally know many Israelis and Jews who are genuinely interested in peace and living with the Arabs in this land. I met Daniel Barenbaum once and he is an amazing person. There are many decent Jews who are against the apartheid policies practiced by the government of Israel. Our fight is against racism, oppression and extremism not against Israelis or Jews. I for one don?t support blanket boycott and prefer it if people boycott artists/individuals and institutions that promote racism and extremism..
tom isn't his name, maybe mohamed
at his benefit. Considering the disgusting way he and his people were treated on his last and it seems final visit to Israel.
get back to your deep dark hole where you never see the light of day or read that there are some JEWS that are working towards peace. People like you ....well I cannot say it here ...but you know what I want to say.
Tom, Why not to suggest to kill him, while you are at it?
Thank You Lisa I don't usually have the patience like you have with people like Tom. But I guess if we try to educate them we can make the world a better place.
Tom, I understand where you're coming from, but you make the same mistake many of my fellow lefties make: you fail to support those on the side of peace and justice! You didn't bother to learn anything about David Broza before you made that comment to boycott him. David Broza's grandfather was the founder of the ONLY joint Palestinian-Jewish Kibbutz which still exists today. David, himself, advocates for peace and understanding through his music. Many Israelis fight the current injustices that exist. The change needs to come from within, and those from within - both Israeli and Palestinian - face a lot of hostility and opposition. They need our support! I consider it a very optimistic sign that the Israeli artists who get the most recognition outside of Israel, are the ones who advocate for peace and justice (e.g. David Broza, Ofra Haza, Berehnboim, etc). Next time, do a little research before you take a position - united we stand, divided we fall!
Even if Israel would be an apartheid state, Broza is a person who strives for peace. Tom, before you make anymore comments like that, take a good look at the history of your own country, "Great" Britain, I'd say England isn't exactly clean either........
i would expect more from elton john than to permit a man from an apartheid state from performing at his benefit show.
He is so cute!
